25.01.2022 All macaws pretty much look the same, so if your bird goes missing, how can you prove he/she belongs to you? Here at myvet we can microchip your bird - large or small. This way you can prove, without doubt, a found bird is your beloved pet. Please call the clinic for further details on this quick and painless procedure for your bird.

24.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE - we will be CLOSED from 3pm Tuesday 24th December to 8am Monday 30th December. For all animal emergencies please call Central Veterinary Emergency on 0413898331. We wish all our clients and their pets a happy and safe holiday season.

24.01.2022 Lots of people are having a tough time at the moment, and our team are keen to support women in need. Myvet has organised a collection point for Annie North of sanitary and toiletry items, as well as small toys and games for children. We would be grateful if you could afford to purchase a little extra on your next shop and drop it into the box out the front of myvet. Thank you in advance for your donations!

23.01.2022 It is time to be a family - all of us! * If we can help you and your pet in any way, we will, and if we cant, we will find someone to help * Pick up the phone and call us * We are not going anywhere! As of Monday 23rd March we are splitting our staff into two separate teams. One will be working out of our sister clinic at Snip and Chip at 18 Piper Road East Bendigo. We will be completing routine vaccinations, desexing and other minor surgical procedures there. Our other... team will be working from myvet Strathfieldsaye available for sick animal and avian consultations. In this way, if one of our team becomes ill, we can continue to provide services to our myvet family. We are also putting in place measures to maintain our high standards of hygiene and increased social distancing. You may be asked by our team to attend Snip and Chip for your consultation. You may also be asked if you are unwell to use additional distancing measures. We do not mean to offend, we only mean to keep our team safe, to allow us continue to serve the community. Dr. Susan Bibby and the myvet family look forward to welcoming you - and rest assured, we are here for you and your pets in this challenging time. See more

23.01.2022 While what we do is not all puppies and cuddles, sometimes we are able to indulge in both! Young Daisy the three month old fox terrier had a lovely time with nurse Alex after her vaccination. I think Alex enjoyed the experience too! Please call us on 54395066 to make an appointment.

23.01.2022 An update from the myvet family to your family. Stay safe everyone and remember to please call if we can help you or your pets at this difficult time.

22.01.2022 Jessie the scotty dog is a very special patient. She even likes to help Nurse Georgie with the paperwork on her visits!

22.01.2022 What an amazing team we have! Nurse Amandas dog Stella was a blood donor for a very sick doggie this week. Not only are our team working so hard during these difficult times, they are volunteering their pets to help others. Thanks Amanda and all our wonderful ladies - you are doing an amazing job!

22.01.2022 Bulldog Betty said Hey Dr. Susan, this belly isnt going to rub itself!. What else could Dr. Susan do when she was asked so nicely? Show us how your pet asks for belly rubs!

21.01.2022 Telemedicine is here! Our myvet team have been working hard over the weekend to prepare a new, online consulting platform for our clients. If you are self isolating, or would prefer not to leave your home for an in-clinic appointment, then please call us on 5439 5066 to organise a time that suits you. Whilst this type of consultation is not suitable for all appointments, we will continue to do our best to help our clients who are unable to make it to the clinic in person. Please take care everyone.

21.01.2022 We all love chocolate treats at Easter - but remember it can be toxic for your pets. Dark chocolate is more toxic than milk or white, and small dogs more susceptible than large. Please call the clinic on 5439 5066 as soon as you notice any missing treats!

20.01.2022 It’s going to be a hot few days, so please make sure your pets are safe, and remember our wildlife with some extra water for drinking and cooling off! Have a lovely weekend!

19.01.2022 Who else has a tripod? Meet Purr-Monster, our most recent three-legged animal at myvet. Poor Purr-Monster had a badly fractured hind leg, and unfortunately the only option was to amputate it. Here he is four weeks later looking happy and healthy. Share a picture of your tripod - there are more around than you think!

If immediate veterinary attention is required please contact another clinic. Thank you, ... The myvet team See more

19.01.2022 To be old and wise you must first be young and stupid. Meet Sully, a mature border collie lady and Kobe, a bouncing young border collie puppy. Both did their best to be well behaved for their consultations!

19.01.2022 Who knew practising social distancing could be so much fun! Our new viewing window allows clients to participate in their pets consultation safely. Use of mobile phones ensures clear communication for even the most challenging cases. Ivy the kitten certainly enjoyed her visit! High 5s all round!

18.01.2022 Upcoming Public Holiday Closures We will be OPEN Wednesday 28th October. We will be CLOSED Tuesday 3rd November. As always, for emergency situations please call the clinic on 54395066 to be transferred to the veterinarian on call. Whichever day you choose to celebrate, enjoy the day!

17.01.2022 Finally Summer is here! Please remember to take extra special care of your pets and wildlife as the weather warms up.

16.01.2022 Dinner for one anyone? Gizzmo might need to learn some 'table manners' now he is eating and drinking from his beautifully made, elevated feeding station. This feeding position has been recommended to help prevent him from breathing in food or water when he eats and drinks after a diagnosis of laryngeal paralysis. He looks pretty pleased with the situation!

16.01.2022 Thank you to all of our clients who have adjusted already to our new entry and animal care procedures. As you can see, we are limiting access to our building to reduce the number of people our staff come into contact with. We are requesting people wait outside, call the clinic when they arrive, and await further instructions. Whilst this can seem onerous, we are determined to protect ourselves to continue to provide our essential services.

14.01.2022 Like everyone, we have been both upset by the devastation of the bushfire emergency, and heartened by the generosity of the community to those people and animals affected. Here at myvet for the month of January you can purchase a paw for a $5 cash donation and place this on our donation wall. At the end of the month we will match all donations raised and send the money to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. 100% of donated funds will go directly to communities in need. So pop in and purchase your paw and add it to the ones purchased by our team today!

14.01.2022 It is with deep sadness we say goodbye to Dr. Kirrilly. Kiz has been a key part of the myvet team since she joined us as a newly graduated veterinarian four years ago, and it has been a huge privilege to be part of her veterinary and personal journey over this time. We wish her, partner Paul and son Eli all the best in their future endeavours. Farewell Kiz!

12.01.2022 Staff training took on a new look this month when the myvet team conducted CPR training - on a large toy tiger! Nurse Harlee and Nurse Alex led the training for the team. We always hope we dont ever need to use these skills, but we need to be prepared just in case.

11.01.2022 Puppies, puppies and more puppies! This gorgeous chocolate labrador litter was in for vaccination and microchipping yesterday. Some are still looking for forever homes, so please call the clinic on 54395066 during clinic hours if you would like more information!

10.01.2022 We would again like to thank everyone who has been so understanding with our modified consulting procedures. Lets keep up the good work and continue to keep our families and friends safe.

10.01.2022 Applying medication to sore ears can be confusing - there are so many cracks and crevices! Here we demonstrate where the syringe containing the ear medication should be placed. Please call us on 54395066 if you are having difficulty applying or giving any medications, there are lots of tips and tricks we can use to help!

10.01.2022 Oh Frankie! This is what happens when you put your nose into things that are none of your business! Poor Frankie had a run in with a bee - and a severe allergic reaction resulted. Luckily the sting was found and removed, and after a couple of injections he was quickly back from 'puffy' to his normal 'wrinkly' self!

09.01.2022 Thank you Dr Susan!! Poor Ebony the little black pug cut her foot at the dog park recently. We strongly recommend everyone keeps a doggy first aid kit in the car in case of cuts and scrapes. Please call in to the clinic if you would like us to help you put one together for your vehicle.

09.01.2022 Last week the postman delivered a wonderful surprise from the kids at Shine Bright South Bendigo Kinder. Each child had sent us their handprints connected with a length of ribbon matching the length of their arms - a virtual hug! We were thrilled to share these hugs with our vets, nurses and of course our furry patients! Thank you Shine Bright - and keep an eye out for the postman - shortly you will receive a special surprise from the myvet team in return!

06.01.2022 The pregnancy bug has bitten, so we are seeking an experienced, full time (4 days per week) veterinary nurse for our busy and growing vet clinic. Experience in a full service veterinary clinic is required to be considered for this role, and Certificate IV qualifications will be highly regarded. Please email a cover letter and CV to [email protected]

06.01.2022 We will be closed tomorrow, 23rd October, for the 'Thank you day' public holiday. For emergencies please call 54395066 and press 1 to be transferred to the Central Veterinary Emergency service. Thank you to all the essential services personnel who have worked tirelessly through this difficult period. Take care everyone!

06.01.2022 We are closed tomorrow, Anzac Day, Saturday 25th April, to remember all who have served. The photo in this post shows Australian RAAF nurses at their station in Madang, Papua New Guinea in 1945, during World War II. (John Thomas Harrison: Australian War Memorial). They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately, every year we see dogs suffering from the serious effects of heatstroke. Please take care of yourselves and your pets on these hot Summer days.

04.01.2022 Many of you will remember Dr. James who worked with us until recently to fill a maternity leave position. What you might not know is he returns regularly to complete complex orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries for our patients. Here he is completing a TPLO - a cruciate injury repair, and is ably assisted by our new part time vet Dr. Pia Hayat.

04.01.2022 Green poo... What does it mean? In this case it meant Aami the Bichon Frise cross had eaten a rather large amount of rat bait! Rat bait blocks the action of Vitamin K - an essential ingredient for blood clotting. Dogs and cats who eat rat bait typically dont look sick for up to 7 days, by which time they can be very, very unwell. So, the moral of the story, if you see green poo and even if your dog or cat is acting normally, then please call myvet immediately on 54395066 so we can commence Vitamin K supplementation and potentially save their life!

03.01.2022 It is with great joy and love that we announce the safe and happy arrival of our newest (and smallest!) team member - Kaysen Thomas Cresswell. Congratulations to Nurse Paula and her partner Justin. Enjoy all the little moments; we can’t wait to meet him after lockdown!

02.01.2022 We are pleased to support animal assisted therapy to help people with special needs in the community. If you know anyone who would like information on this program, please contact Flash Farm directly.

02.01.2022 Christmas is a time for celebration, but many foods we eat are dangerous for pets. Please take care not to indulge your pets (too much!!) during the festive season! And if you must, choose treats wisely. Some examples - including ever popular liver treats! - are in the images below...

02.01.2022 We are pleased to support Phoenix Animal Rescue this festive season. Carolyn and her team of volunteers do an amazing job rehoming animals from pounds throughout Victoria. If you have spare cat or dog food, toys or even a monetary donation please drop it in to the clinic so we can continue to support their wonderful work.

02.01.2022 Amongst all the current madness, life goes on, and we are thrilled to celebrate the safe arrival of a beautiful son, Elijah, to Dr. Kirrily and her fiancee Paul. Welcome to the myvet family little one!

02.01.2022 We would like to thank all our clients who are taking our changed consultation procedures in their stride.
