24.01.2022 Its time to continue on with highlights of our recent trip to Tasmania! (If you missed our first post on Hobart, scroll back to the 10th March!) We picked up our hire car in Hobart and hit the road for the 2 1/2 hr drive heading up to Launceston for 3 nights. There are some quaint little towns just off the main road on route and well worth a stop for lunch. Launceston is a very pretty little town right on the banks of the river with the cutest shop being the National Trust U...mbrella Shop! The following day we headed up the Tamar Valley to visit some wineries, first of all stopping at the recreated Swiss Village before heading to Kreglinger Wine Estate, home to Jansz Tasmania and Pipers Brook Vineyard where we had a stunning cheeseboard at Piper Brook to go with our tasting. The following day we had a load of fun Penny Royal Adventures with a pass for rock climbing, zip lines, cliff walk and quick jump. Josh had a load of fun and would highly recommend it for the family. In the afternoon we went to Cataract Gorge Official, which is a short 2km walk along the river from the city. We took the scenic chairlift over the lake then took a short bush walk back around the lake. So stunning to have this accessible from the city centre! The following morning we hit the road to head over to the east coast for a few nights, but not before another winery on the way! Just 15 minutes drive from Launceston city centre is the stunning Josef Chromy Wines for another tasting and cheeseboard. Next up, we stay in Swansea for a few nights, visit the stunning Freycinet National Park and hit the water on a cruise to Wineglass Bay!

Pre Covid, I used these guys to navigate all our travel needs in India and it was exceptional and everything was like clockwork. So when we needed to book our daughters flights from the other side of the world During COVID we knew we needed pros to cover all the fine details and deal with cancelled flights etc we chose th...ese guys. They have gone above and beyond what normal travel agents and their systems are awesome and we knew they would be on call to help us at any time so I have 100% faith recommending them during these uncertain travel times. 20.01.2022 Weve headed off to Tasmania for a wedding and thought wed make the most of the opportunity to explore this beautiful part of the world. We started with 3 days in Hobart, staying at the one of the oldest boutique hotels in Australia, Hadleys Orient Hotel. As all visits to a new city should start, we found the local craft beer brewery and enjoyed some amazing beer at Hobart Brewing Co. Day 2 was spent catching the ferry out to MONA - Museum of Old and New Art. A 30 minute f...erry ride (where the kids can ride sheep!) then several hours wandering the grounds and the museum before enjoying a cheese board and glass of wine in the sun. The rain was pouring hard the next day but we managed to get a visit to Salamanca Markets and a wander around Battery Point and a visit to the famous yachties hotel, The Shipwright Arms. Great to visit again after 20 years, just shame the weather wasnt kinder to us, but will definitely come back again! Next stop - drive to Launceston for a few nights!

18.01.2022 With the premier announcing this morning that the borders will close again to NSW and ACT, for all our local clients, there has never been a better time to explore Queensland. In the last few weeks we have booked trips to Cairns, Port Douglas, Airlie Beach, Lady Elliot Island, Whitsunday Islands, Longreach and Noosa. No matter how big or small your trip might be, we can help find the best value holiday that perfectly meets your needs, saving you both time and money.... Thank you to all our wonderful clients and their ongoing support!

18.01.2022 The summer school holidays are all done and we finished them off in Far North Queensland. Flying into Cairns we had a few days to catch up with family. We checked out the new Riley, a Crystalbrook Collection Resort which is a beautiful hotel with sea views on the Esplanade. Our new top pick for Cairns! We then headed to Port Douglas for a night at the stunning Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas, with over 2 hectares of swimming pools! Located right on the beach it is ...perfect for couples or families to indulge. We then drove further North into the Daintree for a night at the Ferntree Rainforest Lodge - Cape Tribulation who were amazing hosts. Weve stayed her before a few years back and sent several clients here but with new owners, they are working through refurbishing some of their rooms and we had the pleasure of staying in the new Deluxe Garden Loft Rooms which are beautiful and great for couples or families as they can be configured to sleep up to a family of 5. Back to Port Douglas for 1 more night, this time at the Mantra Aqueous on Port where we stayed in the poolside swim up room with direct pool access and a hot tub on your terrace! Located just of Macrossan Street, it is perfect location to wander to shops, bars and restaurants and only a few hundred meters to the beach, wed definitely recommend staying here! With 4 hotels and a list places to recommend, we definitely suggest putting FNQ on your list of Must Dos for 2020!

18.01.2022 The Qantas Founders Museum, Longreach, Queensland is one of the main attractions at Longreach and is certainly worth the visit. The museum offers an amazing insight into the history of QANTAS and the original founders and their backgrounds, most of which we were unaware of. There are a number of original planes and replicas through the museum and the, National Heritage listed, original hangar used by QANTAS. After several hours making our way through the self-guided museum,... we joined the Airpark tour. This guided tour takes under the sprawling roof that covers the original planes and allowing you to learn more about each of them and take a walk inside. The highlight of course is the massive Boeing 747, standing 3 storeys high to the cockpit and 6 storeys high to the end of the tail. The following day we headed off to the Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre and managed to lose another 4 hours! Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, the Outback Show live performance is not currently running, but things are slowly returning to normal. The museum shares the history of Stockman in Australia and one of the highlights is the 20minute wide screen movie that is included in the ticket. There is a whole floor covering the Royal Flying Doctor Service including an original plane hanging from the roof and the whole museum has some great interactive exhibits to keep kids entertained. Our last night in Longreach and possibly the best part of all The Luminescent Longreach show back at the QANTAS Founders Museum. A new 20 min Sound & Light Show night experience in the Airpark enclosure, with the story of QANTAS projected onto the side of the 747 primarily but also onto the the planes in the enclosure. This is a must do for sure and would highly recommend doing it before you visit the museum to get a taster of the story. (Unfortunately they dont allow pictures so we cant share just how amazing it was - all the more reason for you to visit!) Homeward bound now, via Emerald and Roma over the next few days!

17.01.2022 We love supporting our local community AFL club Morningside Panthers and Morningside Junior AFC almost as much as Josh loves his footy. We continue to give 2% of the total value of anything booked through us back to the club in sponsorship. Theres never been a better time to support a club that means so much to our local community.

17.01.2022 Our trip to the Queensland Outback finished with an early start to catch the sunset for our drive from Longreach to Emerald. It was stunning to see the sun rising over the horizon behind the Qantas 747 and worth the early get up! Onward to Barcaldine for a stop at the Tree of Knowledge where Labor tradition ascribes the founding of Queensland Labour to a meeting of striking pastoral workers under the tree in 1891. Several hours later we arrived into Emerald in time to take... a stroll around their huge 42 hectare botanic gardens. Then just a short 15 minute drive out of town is Lake Maraboon and dam, the perfect place to watch the sun set over the water. A morning stroll out to Selma Weir along the river before hitting the road again on our way to Roma for our last night. Our favourite part of the drive as we passed through some stunning mountain scenery on the endless miles of roads. If we had more time, wed have loved to stop at Minerva Hills for hike to take in the stunning views from the top! A night in Roma to break up the long drive and we headed back via Toowoomba for lunch and our last minute trip the Outback was done! And now to work out where we head to next as we explore more of our beautiful county!

Throw in all the goods for an excellent breakfast, plus a bottle of local red and some ciabatta, olive oil and dukkah to accompany it and you're set for an amazing break.... Ask us how.

13.01.2022 With International flights on hold, its time to visit more of our beautiful country so weve decided to head off on a road trip to the Queensland Outback. Day 1 was an early start, heading off before sunrise, to make our way to Charleville for our first night. Arriving later afternoon, we headed to the Cosmo Centre for some toasted marshmallows around an open fire with some amazing stargazing. This morning was a quick drive around town, seeing the painted water tower and the... Charleville hotel before the obligatory coffee before hitting the road to Longreach. Heinemanns Country Bakery is a must visit and the both the coffee and pies were worth the visit! A quick stop at Augathella to grab a picture of their colourful water tower before a quick refreshment stop at the Welshot Hotel at Ilfracombe, a great little outback pub. We arrived in Longreach just in time for an amazing sunset ready to spend the next few days exploring the Qantas Founders Museum, Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame and a sunset cruise on the Thomson River!

04.01.2022 Day 11 and our final day. Not to waste an opportunity to expand our knowledge, we arranged a visit to the 5* Empire Hotel and Country Club. Just 15 minutes from downtown, this state owned resort is something to behold. Originally commissioned by Prince Jefri as lodging for Royal family guests at a cost of over US$1billion, it was transformed into resort with 522 rooms. Bill Clinton has stayed here and Michael Jackson once lived here in the Emperor Suite, complete with its own... pool. Even the cheapest rooms come with remote controlled everything, hand woven carpets, gold-plated power points and enormous marble bathrooms. Starting at about AU$350 per night, which isnt bad value for what it is, the top rooms are over AU$3,500. Dont think well be staying in the Royal Villa anytime soom. We got a tour of the Ambassador Suite first, which is what all the pictures are, and after that, quite frankly there was no point sharing the pictures of the other rooms! We then had an escorted tour of the grounds, in a golf buggy as the grounds are too large to walk anywhere quickly. Theres a golf course, full gym including indoor basketball, badminton and squash courts, indoor swimming pool (along with the massive outdoor swimming pool) and as youd expect its own cinema and 6 lane bowling alley! We finished with High Tea in the lobby lounge. WOW! Being a dry country, it was served with sparkling watermelon juice, which was actually really good, and unlimited snacks, sandwiches, scones, sweet treats and tea. Every time you finish a plate, they ask you want more and just keep refilling it. Needless to say, Josh had a 2nd serving of the cakes on top! At AU$60 for the 3 of us, it wasnt cheap, but still great value and very decadent. A must do on your next visit to Brunei. To finish the trip, we headed to Gadon Night Market for dinner before our flight. Another must do! A really clean outdoor food market that sells loads of local specialties and BBQ everything and it is all so cheap. For less than AU$10 we had the best, fresh cooked food for the whole trip. What a day to finish an amazing holiday. After a 14 hour flight, we are now safely in London - and its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

02.01.2022 Were finally back in Australia after our epic trip to Borneo and England. We spent 4 weeks in England to have Christmas with Rachels family and catch up with old friends. From Windsor Castle to ice skating in front of Hampton Court Palace, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and St Pauls Cathedral, not to mention English pubs and double decker buses. A visit to Legoland to top it off which is well worth a visit! If youve not already been, make sure a visit to London and the UK is on your bucket list!

02.01.2022 We hit the road again and had 1 night in Port Arthur to finish off the holiday part of our trip. We were staying at NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park and on arrival we checked into our Safari Tent for the night. More glamping than camping for sure, with its own bathroom, kitchenette and deck with built in BBQ. We had water views and was just a 5 minute walk down to the waters edge and onto a beautiful quiet little beach to explore. Come the evening, there were wallabies jum...ping around everyone - sure to delight the younger kids. It is only 5 minutes drive to Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania and we headed straight there to explore for the afternoon. All tickets include a 40 minute guided tour and a 25 minute harbour cruise so we started with the guided tour. It is the best way to get your bearings and an understanding of this historical site. We then wandered the grounds and explored the buildings before joining the short cruise with some more interesting commentary and a great way to view the site from the water. Just so happened that the Queen Elizabeth cruise ship was docked in the harbour as well so we got a great close up of it! After some reflection at the remembrance pool, we headed back to the campsite, before returning later in the evening for the Ghost Tour. The entry ticket to the site allows you to return the next day as well, so if you arrive later in the day, its great to be able to go back and enjoy your morning coffee with a stroll around and finish your visit. We started the Ghost Tour at 9pm and headed off into the darkness of the site with our guide with stories of unexplained occurrences told by the light of a lantern. Our 9yo son Joshua was asked to be the lantern bearer, which made him feel safe as he was at the front with the guide! It was a great way to hear different perspectives and stories of the site and would certainly recommend heading back in the evening for this unique experience. The next few days were down in Snug, on the South coast, for the amazing wedding that was actually the purpose for our trip! We had an amazing trip and we cannot wait to get back and spend more time in this beautiful part of the world. Everywhere was so amazing we just wish we had more time in each place so we could explore it even more!

01.01.2022 After leaving Launceston, we headed to the east coast for a few nights in the small seaside town of Swansea, with access to the stunning Freycinet Peninsula. We stayed at the gorgeous Meredith House & Mews in one of the Mews Rooms which open straight onto the beautiful back gardens. Noel and Neal were simply the most amazing hosts and the breakfast is all cooked fresh daily, including all the fresh pastries. They even encourage you to take with you what you cant eat to keep ...you going through your busy day sightseeing!! We drove to Coles Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula ready for a day cruising to Wineglass Bay with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. It was a full day cruise including lunch and the scenery, commentary and the wildlife were simply spectacular. We had dolphins swimming along side the boat, nesting sea hawks, albatross flying above, flying fish skimming across the water and seals sunbathing and jumping off the rocks. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough for anyone in the area!! Driving back to Swansea, we made a short stop at Devils Corner winery for some beautiful wine matched with oysters and the most beautiful views out over the water. The only regret that we had was just didnt have enough time in this part of Tasmania and would love to have spent more time exploring this beautiful part of the world. Next we head for a night at Port Arthur exploring the historical village both during the day and the eerie evening ghost tour!
