24.01.2022 Last night’s Yin Yoga immersion was truely soul nourishment. Thank You Raewyn Fernandez, UMAMA Yoga for holding such a safe and light space for us all, for sharing your knowledge Thank you to you all- the studio community and our online community, for coming together to cultivate a collective calm...to share in softness, release and breath. ... May we always remember what truely matters

22.01.2022 A big thank you to Rae, @umamayoga and the other 15 incredible yogis who shared in our collective practice last Friday night. . Rae took us through 2 hours of nourishment through the practice of Yin yoga, as we explored our heart and large intestine meridians (energetic channels within), as we lead into the medicine of Summer. . I’m so very thankful for this community, for being able to practice alongside other amazing people and thankful for the ancient wisdom practic...es which support us individually and collectively. . For each time we choose to practice and weave our learnings into who we be, we create great ripples of fruitful change within our hearts, homes and world. . And can I just say, I could lay in tiger in a tree aaaalllll day- holy moly that was bliss! Anyone else agree?’ . . Ruth x . . credit: Javardh See more

21.01.2022 ’ ...Dear friends, it’s ok if it feels scattered and messy. Please remember...chances are you may be processing a lot from the year that’s been. Sometimes, space and time is required. Not for the intention of dwelling or gripping onto the past, but to give yourself breathing space to all that is unfolding to integrate personal learnings along the way. From here and in time, begins the and . Chances are, you may be chan...ging and pivoting, for we are often in evolvement when we loosen our grip. Perhaps your priorities, core values, daily habits have changed or are transitioning. The cyclical nature of life continues to flow and you are not behind...Please know, even if you feel heavy, lacking or a little stagnant you are still in a stage of growth and blooming anew through your involution. Self care can sometimes be the disentangling of things that feel over/underwhelming & out of balance- finances, lifestyle choices, relationships... . It is the practice of taking the next effective action for your well being, the next right action along the path. It is often the shedding of old beliefs you’ve held about yourself and life, the ones that have taken up space in your mind for too long now. It is the practice of self- again and again as you learn to dissolve and transmute these beliefs in your re-parenting of your heart and soul. What I’ve come to learn over time, dear heart, is this...when self care starts from the intention of - to myself, then it is really self-respect and acceptance. The commitment to the strength of my . It is the embrace of respect and reverence for Life and the way I can move through life experience. May you cultivate the practice of non-violence towards yourself and in doing so remember who you truly are. . In love, Ruth x

16.01.2022 Diving into the flow state, birthing visions to light...setting inspired thoughts into motion, breathing in the graces and gifts of the here and now and the renewal of each new breath... . Creativity is medicine . Compassionate Self inquiry is medicine... . Self-acknowledgment is medicine . Deep Listening is medicine . Heart-led action and choices are medicine. . May we all acknowledge just how far we have come and how we are growing through the learnings both pleasant and unpleasant... I invite you, dear heart, to carve out the time and space to see and appreciate how far you have come. To send a deep bow of acknowledgment to yourself, and to tap into the medicine of the above in whatever ways it speaks to you . All my love, Ruth x See more

15.01.2022 So this has been creeping up on me as of late....being truthful with myself has been really difficult-ha! Refusing to accept what my dear body is telling me at the moment, has only been dimming my inner light more.... . Some things I am learning in a much deeper sense over the last two months... Burnout isn’t just about the physical activity you take part in, it’s also the mental load you keep choosing to carry. Our intelligent bodies keep the score.... The actions and choices of other’s do not need to break you away from your own core values and your truth. Even your closest will hurt you, remember everyone is human and desires wholehearted connection. Seek the goodness in others and yourself, moving forward. Love in action must begin in the home of your own heart It’s not realistic or healthy to keep all balls in the air, all the time. Slowing down and resting is ok, Ruthie...don’t judge your own pace. The standard of productivity and perfection, including social media that is widely accepted in this world is soul destroying. Choosing to practice self compassion with myself in moments of reactivity, rather than more resistance or judgment on myself. Being truthful with where I’m at doesn’t mean I am ungrateful, disconnected from Life or my internal strengths and wisdom. It does not make me weak, incapable, broken, behind, unworthy. Slowness, simplicity and honesty with myself is what actually illuminates my own wisdom for my own mind, cells and body to hear and learn from first. Sporadic periods of dance, crying, belly laughter and long deep breaths really truly matter. . Many years ago, I wouldn’t have even known where to begin with all of that. Now I look back on how far I’ve come. So beyond grateful for the ancient practices of yoga and mindfulness and the way they sustain my heart and soul. . In love and heart, Ruth x . . Thank you to @simplysophiedesigns for this beautiful image

15.01.2022 Through this guided practice you are invited to turn the attention gently inwards and come to a greater awareness of yourself. Yoga Nidra is often the best place to start for those who are new to meditation and yoga, a practice which combines deep relaxation with attentive awareness. Through regular practice we come to know that we need not be attached to our stressors, we allow them to surface in our inner landscapes and we allow ourselves to also Let. Them. Go.so that... a greater sense of inner freedom is achieved and we meet the companionship of calm. We begin to access higher states of potential, receptivity, clarity, awareness and insight. > , . : http://insig.ht/gm_150665 May it nourish you, dear hearts In love and service, x Ruth

15.01.2022 Namaste, MYS Family... I’ve been immersing myself in family time, breaking routine, exploring my personal practice, self ritual and ceremony over the last few weeks whilst setting things in motion for another wonderful trip around the sun alongside you all! As we step two feet into this new year, I’m thankful to have this incredible community here, growing and evolving side by side. Thank you for being here witnessing the growth of the studio and for showing up to your own co...mpassionate self inquiry and awareness practices. For it is an absolute honour to watch you b l o o m I can’t wait to connect with you all in person and welcome you back into the space next week! I recently came across the words below, by one of my favourite writers, @tokopa and felt called to share them with you...May you always know and lean into your internal strength, grace and wisdom. All my love, Ruth x We’ve risen out of the stormy depths this last year. Instead of the usual resolutions, let’s take a moment to give ourselves New Year’s Validations! What were some of your greatest accomplishments this year? . Make note of all the ways in which you have triumphed, transcended, withstood, and survived this last year. . Notice the ways, small as they may be, that you’ve lived and loved well this year. Count the occasions in which you’ve made new choices, held to your truth, made your boundaries known. . Take a moment to bring to mind and heart those who have supported, cared for, and shaped you. Bless your believers. And bless yourself, for having made it this far against the odds. . You are not alone. Together, we are building something significant, and though it may not look like much, we need you to keep going. - @tokopa

14.01.2022 You are invited to foster the essence of loving kindness within. When we embody the heart’s wisdom and our innate benevolent nature, we begin to see, honour and appreciate ourselves through a more compassionate and nurturing lens. We cultivate a courageous and joyous heart, allowing life to move through us with a deeper sense of gratitude and we relate to others in ways of authentic connection, compassion and appreciation. This meditation stems from the Buddhist practic...e of Metta meditation. Here you will be guided to receive the vibration of kindness and offer benevolence to yourself. This intention to regularly cultivate and develop an embodied state of kindness becomes a nourishing Bhavana practice. > , . : http://insig.ht/gm_158795 May your hearts breathe... 11.01.2022 Repost from @one_big_heart. . A beautiful invitation for us all during this time . .... . We hope you are feeling full of love and gratitude after yesterday. Today is a great time to reflect on the year that's passed, and set intentions for the year that's coming. Sit in stillness and see what comes up for you. Allow your desires to bubble to the surface. Use a journal or notepad to name your desires. Putting pen to paper is such a powerful way to bring weight to our intentions. Place the note in a place where you will see it everyday; your wallet, mirror or dashboard. You don't need to consciously read it each day. You are now sending a message to your subconscious mind which will begin to work towards your desire. Watch what happens when you begin to live and operate from this place of intention. See more

04.01.2022 ...There is no need for complicated philosophies...my philosophy is kindness.~ Dalai Lama . May we never forget the power of kindness...kindness towards our own hearts and minds and kindness to others. Often, many of us battle with similar inner demons in the everyday...and often it all roots back to common beliefs of self doubt, fear, not enoughness...because at the very core of us we all wish for the same thing- Connection. Real. Honest. Connection... We are biologicall...y hardwired for connection- our brains, our hearts need it for survival, our personal growth and the growth of humanity. To be loved, to love, to be heard, to hear another, to be held, to hold another. Compassionately, unconditionally. . Perhaps kindness to self, is a practice that we were never nurtured through enough in our foundational years...to apply a deep sense of generosity and compassion to ourselves at the times when experiences felt tender... . I’ve come to see that our willingness to be in open-hearted connection with others stems from our willingness and commitment to be in true, honest and compassionate connection with ourselves. . My invitation to you today is where can you sow the seeds of kindness within your own heart and mind? And how can you send this vibration of kindness out into the world today? . May we all remember that we . are . all . walking . each . other . home . And may your heart breathe and remember this- You are enough, You are valued, You matter, You are loved, You are enough just as you are . Ruth x : Matt Collamer
