18.01.2022 PLANT PROTEIN OR ANIMAL PROTEIN... I personally get almost all of my protein from plant sources. Yes, including all of the 9 essential amino acids. Without opening up the big conversation on the generally miserable life of the modern, factory farmed animal. There are real plusses that come with going for plant protein.... We discuss this with our clients. Help them to be sure that they are getting all the 9 essential amino acids if they shift to a plant based diet. These are; Hisidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Valine. You can get the protein you need from plant sources. You may need to do some reading up on it. But you can. You'll likely feel great and save money. Win.



17.01.2022 IF YOU ARE IN FREMANTLE... They will make you a nice pot of Green Tea, some caffeine but less, to help you get off the caffeine gradually. They being South Freo Continental. The handy thing about a pot is that if the staff offer to top it up, you'll get 4 cups for your $3.50.... If you are a work from home person. You can get a nice bit of work d one at a cafe. Walk there, walk home maybe. Or park a decent distance away, get a handy walk into your day.

16.01.2022 SUPPLEMENTING CONTINUED... Fish Oil OR Oily Fish? Or other sources of Omega 3's. There are plenty. ... It's another one of those questions that people sometimes ask me. Am I getting enough Omega 3's? (once they understand why they are important in the first place) It really does require an analysis of a clients diet to accurately estimate this. But if you're trying to figure it out on your own. Try a simple trial. Do a month on Fish or Krill Oil. Follow recommendations on packaging. Then a month off. Ask yourself after the two months, did I feel better ON? Or was there no difference. A reasonable approach. If you would like to have a Nutritionist partner with you to... 1. Feel better in the short term. Within a week or so. 2. Be in a very good position, long term. 3. Develop a plan with you that is based around you, your life. Personalised. That will work. 14.01.2022 A LITTLE SERIES ON... Health Insurance. But not the Insurance Company kind of Health Insurance. Not even the great Nutrition kind of insurance. We are going to touch on the benefits of supplementing, that kind of Health Insurance.... The idea is to get us thinking about why we spend money happily on Health Insurance (because we expect to get ill and want some cover). When we could spend money on staying well, not getting ill. 12.01.2022 SUPPLEMENTING? Should I? Or not? What ones? What dose? There is no one solution or answer for all people.... Some people are accessing the nutrients they require through good diet. Some people aren't. Having a Nutritionist or Dietician analyse your diet, then recommending or not, supplements. That's a good idea. Buying things that you may or may not require. Not so good an idea. But if you aren't really filling up on vegetables and fruit (in that order) you may be under done for some important micronutrients. But please resist the temptation to buy the Chemist Warehouse so to speak. Fill yourself with pills/capsules. You aren't likely to do yourself any harm but you may spend a lot and receive no benefit. It's a tricky one, supplements. Do get some professional guidance. It is possible to meet our requirements through food but some of us aren't achieving that. See you soon.

07.01.2022 IRON... Figuring out if you could do with a supplement? It's not really so simple.... Go see a GP, request tests, gets tests, go back to get results. That's the best way. Here's another. That may work for you. Buy an Iron supplement. Have a notepad handy for this experiment. Take the recommended dose. Record in the notepad (daily) how you feel in terms of energy level. Do this for a month. Then stop the supplementing, for a month, recording daily how you feel etc. Compare your notes. A two month trial. One on Iron, one off Iron. PLACEBO... Yes. That. You may expect to feel better on an Iron supplement and create that feeling all by yourself. You may think it's all a waste of time and money, the opposite placebo effect as such. But. If you can remain neutral, unbiased. It could be a good way to decide, Supplement or Not. Ideas for you.



07.01.2022 ON THE STREETS... Morning walkers, well done. Yes it's a bit cold but there's gold.... Some great colours to be enjoyed. And. A body under some stress, from cold, does adapt. There's a lot of good science that supports the idea of being cold, even very cold, from time to time. So. Apart from your daily exercise (ticked off the list early). Your immune system (if it's cold where you are) has had a workout too. Your walk may have been meditative. You may have had a good idea. There's four benefits there. There's likeky more. Morning walks in Winter, Cold Gold.

06.01.2022 SOME CAFFEINE FREE TEA IDEAS... You may know some of these. Cooler months and we think about hot drinks more so.... To get some great benefits from your tea drinking, mix it up. Here's a few for you. 1. Rooibos. 2. Peppermint. 3. Ginger. 4. Lemongrass. 5. Rosemary. 6. Ginkgo. 7. Ashwagandha. 8. Tulsi. 9. Cinnamon. 10. Chai (as long as black tea/camelia sinensis is not in the ingredients). 10 Caffeine Free Teas for you. If this caff-free, tea thing is new to you. Try Rooibos first. Boil some up in Almond Milk, add cinnamon and honey. That's a good one for taking on a walk in your keep cup. Caffeine...has it's up sides and downs. As a general rule, if you have to have that 2nd or 3rd coffee/tea each day to GET THROUGH. Maybe it's worth looking at simplifying life, investigating downsizing, minimalism, mediation. Not hammering our Endocrine system to GET THROUGH. It's something to ponder, over a tea.
