25.01.2022 Shout out to Kardy Kreations for sharing their Noongar colouring in pages, which we’ve converted to Jagera and Turrbal names! Use these in your classroom and in every day conversation to help us strengthen our languages!

25.01.2022 On this day as our country is split between celebration and commemoration, we commit ourselves again to teaching the next generations truth, respect, and empathy. We teach the way of our ancestors, because we know that when truth, respect, and empathy are our cultural cornerstones, we will stand united. #alwayswasalwayswillbe For more information about Nabei Indigenous Games in the classroom, contact us at [email protected]

21.01.2022 MABO DAY: How can we use this legal finding to inform our classroom? Mabo Day is, at its core, a reminder that we can not decide that something belongs to us just because we like it. It tells us that stealing is wrong, but it also guides us to restoring trust in broken relationships. Today, take time to show your young people who Eddie Koiki Mabo is, and talk about his struggles to have our rights returned. You can use this to explore feelings such as sorrow and anger, but ...also to consider methods of communicating those feelings. Most of all, lets help to reinforce the understanding that it is our responsibility as world citizens to help those around us to restore justice, as Eddie Mabo did. Our world is far from perfect, but if we do our job well in early childhood education, we will build a better future.

20.01.2022 We were lucky enough to be invited to the open day at this amazing early learning centre today! A beautiful bush setting just a short drive from the CBD, with an emphasis on nature play and environmental awareness, we cant wait to work with Kenmore Hills Early Learning!

19.01.2022 To start National Reconciliation Week, there's nothing better than teaching your children the significance of Sorry Day. Check out this deadly video of Trevor Jamieson reading Sorry Day, written by Coral Vass and Dub Leffler. And most importantly, take the time to reflect on our country's past while helping shape our future.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m32cvvJ0tqE

They can provide training for any client, whether youre a small early learning centre or a multinational conglomerate. Get in touch if youre looking to improve your understanding of First Nations in Australia

16.01.2022 This will go down as one of the most important speeches made in Australia.

15.01.2022 Today is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, and is a chance to reinforce the value of all children learning their culture, and about the culture of others. As Australian educators, we all have the responsibility to give access to our cultural education. Our actions today can make a better tomorrow, for ourselves and for our children. If you need inspiration or guidance, there are heaps of great online sources, such as Wingaru Education and Riley Callie Resources, or check out www.nabei.com.au for more details!

15.01.2022 This week some of our classes have been able to explore another one of the special trees on country, soap bush wattle. Did you know wattle leaves contain saponins, which combined with water create a lathering foam used to clean? This tree also gives us wood for tools, and medicines ranging from treatment for sore throats through to headaches, and even a method of catching fish by hand! Just another reason that Aboriginal Australians maintain such a close connection to country - you look after country, country looks after you

14.01.2022 We are so excited to be back! Ask your centre today about our program, or email [email protected] for more information

14.01.2022 Using toys and games to teach motor skills such as throwing and sequential movement, and social skills such as waiting and following instructions, are nothing new to Indigenous culture. Here, the kids are using pool noodles in a modified version of a game called weme, where the intent is to hit something with an item you have just thrown.

14.01.2022 Thanks to Kaleidoscope Kids at Logan for allowing us to share an insight into what we do. If you’d like more information about the program, email [email protected]

13.01.2022 Miss Matilda loved seeing the artwork that our friends at Little Darlings have created! Did you know that the dot style paintings that are famous in Indigenous artworks originated from the Central Desert region of Australia? Other prominent styles include cross-hatching and x-ray. Recognising the origins of art helps to strengthen our culture, and reinforces the diversity in Indigenous cultures

13.01.2022 After a week of teaching about the meaning of reconciliation and acknowledgement, how powerful is it to see this from the office this evening!

12.01.2022 Nabei Indigenous Education was blessed this morning to tour The Purple House, learning about this vital health service and how they support remote Indigenous communities to access dialysis and health services. We learned about how the organisation started from the grassroots collective of artists who wanted to provide better medical care in their communities, listened to stories from some of the original artists about their experiences flying to Sydney, heard about current p...atients early lives as teachers in their community, learned about how bush medicine is made, discovered the incredible organic growth of an organisation formed to service the community that now supports families from some of the most remote communities in the country, and saw first hand the power of community influence on health. From the board members to the CEO, the employees, the patients, and the volunteers, Purple House is a powerful example of how self-determination works! If you want to learn more and support one of the best examples of community owned and driven health care, check out www.purplehouse.org.au or buy some of their hand made bush medicines from your local distributor

12.01.2022 Lets start today with something inspirational. My purpose is to keep our culture alive and to empower our youth because I want all youth today to walk tall, be proud of their background, their culture, their language and where they come from. - Mitch Tambo. How can you not be inspired by this proud, strong Aboriginal role model?

11.01.2022 Every day, especially today, we pay our respects to the courage, resilience and determination of the Stolen Generations by acknowledging the pain and trauma caused by government policies and actions. Over the coming week, we will use our platform to teach our young ones of the past, in the knowledge that learning about our cultures, our history and our truth is another step towards reconciliation. #SorryDay #ReconciliationWeek #StolenGenerations

10.01.2022 This week weve been exploring the use of ochre, a timeless element in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. We got to see ochre in its original form, sourced by Traditional Owners in Wiradjuri country, and mix it with water to experiment applying the mixture to a range of surfaces, including natural surfaces, built surfaces, and our own skin!

10.01.2022 Throwing and catching games help us develop physical skills like coordination, balance and muscular strength, as well as practising social skills such as sharing and taking turns. Playing is fun, playing is important, playing is learning.

10.01.2022 Bruce Pascoe is an incredible source of information and inspiration for educators looking to expand their knowledge of Australias Indigenous history. His books, Dark Emu and Young Dark Emu, should be mandatory reading for any person who wants to understand why acknowledgement is so important to us.

06.01.2022 You've likely seen plenty in rural Australia, but how much do you know about the 'Myrtle mob'? These amazing trees allowed Indigenous Australians to create bowls, spears, medicine, aromatherapy and music.

06.01.2022 For the protection of our staff and the community, we have temporarily suspended all classes until we receive advice that it is safe to resume. We will work with our clients to cover lost sessions. In the meantime, please stay safe, and look out for each other.
