25.01.2022 For generations of Australians the bugle call of 'The Last Post' signals a one minute of silence in which our nation collectively bows its head and reflects on the sacrifice, bravery and tragedy of those who have fought and died in war. Anzac Day 2020 will certainly be different due to the national control measures in place as a result of the COVID-19 worldwide impacts. For the first time in a century there's no suburban dawn services, no mid-morning ANZAC DAY marches with people lining the main streets of our towns reflecting on what the day represents or a beer at the pub with some sneaking in a few afternoon two-up matches. Instead ANZAC DAY 2020 will be 'at home' with Australians uniting and recognising both the past and present armed services personnel by making their own private commemorations. #ANZACspirit

24.01.2022 Trust this message finds all NALG QLD members, friends, family and supporters well considering the COVID-19 impacts. As some of you may have ventured back to golf at your home clubs over the past few weeks, Captain Jeff Hogan would like to know what your thoughts are in terms of when to resume the NALG QLD events. Jeff asks that you reply via email by 30 June 2020 to let the committee know if you are keen to tee off again this year (from August onwards) or recommence in 20...21. The committee will take all feedback into consideration and will inform members of the outcome asap. Please know that the health and well-being of all members is extremely important so the decision of when to resume NALG QLD events needs member responses to this request in writing especially as there would need to be members willing to play if golfing venues are to be booked. The NALG QLD committee look forward to hearing from you. Email: [email protected]

24.01.2022 Don't forget NALG QLD are at Keperra this weekend. AGM at 9am in the clubhouse prior to tee off. An email was sent out to the members this evening for booking details via Keperra Golf & Country Club. Please check your emails!

20.01.2022 The NALG QLD Committee would like to wish all members, families, friends and supporters a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I would also like to thank Jeff Hogan, NALG QLD Captain, who has been working tirelessly over the past few weeks trying to organise a NALG QLD end of year event location with very little success. Due to the popularity of golf, there are no golf venues available to cater for non-members / groups except for one on the north side of Brisbane who offered... tee times of 5.30am or 2pm in an attempt to support NALG QLD. Jeff said to inform you all that he hopes that you are enjoying the game of golf at your respective home clubs and will continue contacting golf venues to secure a NALG QLD event location for early 2021. Stay healthy, safe travels if out and about over Christmas and the New Year, fit in a game of golf if you can and enjoy the festive season with your loved ones! Renitta

13.01.2022 As of 8pm last night these suburbs are offically classed as restricted areas. As stated via a press conference yesterday Queensland’s chief health officer is pleading with residents to follow rules designed to stem the coronavirus or face an outbreak similar to Victoria’s. Jeannette Young says the state has reached a critical juncture in the fight against COVID-19. Restricted areas are places in Queensland which are potentially at higher risk of COVID-19 transmission. Restricted areas are legally listed so that people can be aware if their residence, activities or work are captured by restrictions.

10.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 21 March 2020 The NALG QLD Committee have discussed in depth the continuation of the NALG QLD 2020 events in respect to COVID-19 in accordance with the current Australian Government and Queensland Health announcements. For the health and well being of all, minimising risks, social distancing requirements and avoiding non-essential travel, the NALG QLD 2020 Committee have cancelled all pre-planned NALG QLD 2020 events until further notice. ... 05.01.2022 Good Morning to all! Thank you to all NALG QLD members who replied by June 30 to the email regarding when to resume NALG QLD events. Your responses have been forwarded to the committee and will be taken extremely seriously in terms of the COVID19 situation.... The committee will monitor the Queensland COVID19 data closely over the next few weeks especially when the borders reopen to ensure we don't have a spike in cases like that unfolding in Victoria at this present moment in time. If an NALG QLD event is to be organised, Captain Jeff Hogan will inform you all in August of a possible venue, date, cost, time and COVID19 precautions that would be put in place. If an event was to proceed then you will be asked to nominate via the event email to confirm the number of players so Jeff can confirm with the venue that a NALG QLD event would proceed. Captain Jeff Hogan said that all future events if they were to proceed will be new venues with new dates (all previous venues have been cancelled) and all members will be informed month to month by emails. Jeff will not be contacting any golf venues in advance only month to month as the committee continues to monitor the COVID19 case numbers etc. The committee appreciates that many of you wish to resume NALG QLD events asap seeing you are all playing golf at your home clubs. The committee has chosen at this time to proceed with caution before organising events on a month to month basis until they can be sure that all QLD COViD19 cases continue to remain at NIL once the borders reopen. Regards, Renitta (on behalf of the NALG QLD Committee)

01.01.2022 This week NALG QLD member Robin Stagg played in the 2020 Gold Coast Senior Amateur Championship at Hope Island. Due to limited competition golf at the moment as a result of COVID19 restrictions Robin decided to tee up on one of the best courses on the Gold Coast and test his golfing skills. Lucky he did as Robin won a nearest the pin in R1 and took out the R3 Best Gross honours! Awesome! #leftygolfer #nalgqld
