22.01.2022 Our client came to us with a problem with his Kubota radiator - we found that the top tank had broken. Unfortunately for our client there were no replacement tanks available..... but luckily for our client we were able to manufacture & weld on an alloy tank to keep his machine going! 22.01.2022 Did you know we also repair fuel tanks? This BMW motorbike fuel tank came to us with an obvious problem (see photo). lucky for our client we like to solve problems here at Nambour Radiators! Our welding specialists were able to carefully repair the fuel filler neck without damaging the paintwork on the tank! This meant we saved our client from having to repaint the tank or even worse, replace the entire fuel tank which resulted in one very happy (& relieved) client. Our customer wanted us to fix the cooling system in their GU Patrol as it was overheating while towing their van and it needed to be right before they headed off on their road trip to Uluru! We recommended a new radiator with a foam surround to help with any rough driving, fitted new hoses, a new thermostat and repacked the fan hub to make sure everything was working at its best. 17.01.2022 To flush or not to flush - that is the question? The simple answer is..... if your car is overheating, then a flush will NOT solve your problem! A perfect example is shown in this video. This car had been overheating & it was suggested by the owners mechanic to replace the thermostat & give the cooling system a simple flush. The video shows the condition of the radiator AFTER THE FLUSH - its quite easy to see that a flush will not unblock a blocked radiator! 16.01.2022 Weve been lucky enough to have a few classic cars in the workshop lately. The 1975 Valiant came in for a fix to getting hot. We inspected the vehicle & suggested to recore the radiator - upgrading it to a 3 row copper core which gives the old school look for this car but with the benefits of the new school cooling technology. The 1967 HR was also a recore but this time we recommended a new school performance core to keep this classic running cool in traffic. 13.01.2022 Our customer Chapmans Offroad Racing have been running one of our custom alloy radiators for a few years in their off-road racing 4WD but now needed to improve the cooling efficiency during races. We recommended they upgrade to a custom copper brass radiator for better cooling performance. There wasnt a lot of room to work with under the bonnet, so we built the custom radiator & then trial fitted it on-site to make sure it would fit to suit their modified Triton. 12.01.2022 This classic Morris Eight had an 8 HP engine from factory but the new owner has now converted it to a larger engine and needed a modified radiator to suit. For this custom job we recommended the radiator got a new copper core to keep it looking authentic to its era. We were able to re-use the top tank & side brackets, but needed to manufacture a new bottom tank and new top & bottom spouts. We also needed to change the top & bottom spouts to the opposite side of the radiator to suit the new engine modifications. 09.01.2022 We had a BIG week in the workshop last week!! We were contracted to remove, rebuild & refit not one but 3 big generator radiators at a local factory. We could only work on one radiator at a time so the factory could keep running - so we transported one at a time back to our workshop to recore each one and then had to refit each radiator after hours so we didnt disturb the factory operations.
