25.01.2022 WARNING TO PENSIONERS If re-elected, Scott Morrison will force pensioners onto the cashless welfare card. The plan will put 80% of your pension on a card th...at will limit what and where you can spend your own money. Under Scott Morrison's Liberals and Nationals, you could soon be saying goodbye to cheap food and drinks at your local club and pub - and even buying a simple lotto ticket will be banned. This is insulting. It is demeaning. It is downright wrong. Labor will SCRAP the cashless welfare card. Locals must not be forced into this nasty, unfair scheme. Together, let’s stop Scott Morrison’s plan to force our pensioners onto the cashless welfare card.

12.01.2022 It's way past time for Amazon to pay their fair share.

10.01.2022 This article points to heart of what is wrong with Coalition governments since Howard. Never for all Australians and never for battlers. Human rights and social justice are concepts beyond them.

07.01.2022 I wish more prominent people would speak up for the prisoners of Christmas Island. Good on you Anastasia, I have nothing but respect for you. Story reported i...n The Mercury 12/6/21. Premier lashes PM over family DARREN CARTWRIGHT QUEENSLAND Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says it’s time the federal government made a decision on the future on the tragic plight of a Sri Lankan family seeking residency in Australia. Australian Border Force officials removed the family from the regional Queensland town of Biloela in 2018 after their visas expired, and they have been on Christmas Island since 2019. The couple, Priya and Nades, arrived separately as asylum seekers in 2012 and 2013 and were married in Biloela in 2014. Their two children, Kopika and Tharnicaa, were born in Australia. On Monday, Tharnicaa, 3, was flown to Perth from Christmas Island with her mother amid concerns she could have a serious infection after being ill for two weeks. The family’s future hinges on whether their youngest daughter has a right to apply for a protection visa. The daughter’s case is before the court. The family has enormous support within Biloela and a petition to keep them has garnered more than half a million signatures. Ms Palaszczuk said a decision needed to be made on their future as they had been through enough.

04.01.2022 PARLIAMENT RAMP OPENS (FINALLY) It was great to join Jonathan O’Dea for the opening of the new ramp in the Speaker’s Garden. It’s been four years since w...e started banging on the Govt’s doors about this - I’m happy to see it finally installed for future Members of Parliament and visitors from across our community. However, there is so much we need to do to make our Parliament accessible to everyone! Our Parliament should be the people’s Parliament, and until we make it accessible to all, I will be fighting every day to make this possible.
