07.01.2022 Time to breathe. What have you done for you today? This week? This month? Im calling it. Im done with hitting 3pm and realising I havent had lunch (sometimes breaky) yet or clocking 5 hours on the PC without looking out my window. Im scheduling in me time. On the daily. My current go to is getting to school early for pick up, sitting under a tree and listening to nothing but the trees dance in the breeze. Until the bell goes. Then I bloody know it! ... So how bout it? What have you done for you today?

04.01.2022 Ive recently been thinking about how easy our kids have it; the knee-high responsibility, endless fun, reasonable excuses for throwing a tanty and I wondered... what is the take away as a parent? If the kids had a message for us, their time poor mentally loaded parents, what would that be? And could this truely benefit us in some way? Here are a few of my thoughts.... Slow down. And pay attention to the story - more importantly, the message in the story. ... Speak up. Tell that colleague or inappropriate friend that they have offended you - I dont like it when you use my coffee mug Gordon and give it a half arsed wash. Instead of whinging to others about the unsuspecting bloke. Dont sweat the small stuff. Fall off the monkey bars/lose a potential client, graze your knees/pride - dust yourself off, swallow that pride and try again (or move on to the handball courts and smash out a few rounds). Life goes on. Have your own back. We all feel the guilt that tends to come in the new parent welcome pack but stop giving yourself a hard time. These little humans look up at us as though freakin Oprah just entered the room. Feel it, accept it, embrace it, acknowledge that although theres so much going on in our lives we are doing a great job and are special in our own right. What are you learning from your children or the children in your care?
