09.02.2022 Known as 'saltwater people' for our island-like existence and superior fishing skills, it's not surprising that there are words for different kinds of waves. Dhadni is the Nharangga word for surf waves ... a magnificent place to be on a hot summer day captured perfectly by Adam Meyer of AdBe Photography #NharanggaBanggara

07.01.2022 "As of yesterday, Australia Post updated their addressing guidelines on their website, so it now has the information as to how you can properly use the traditio...nal place name in your address. Australia Post encourages use of traditional place names following campaign by Gomeroi woman, Rachael McPhail. "When addressing a parcel or letter, place the traditional place name after the recipient's name, but before the street address, suburb or town. #NAIDOC2020

04.01.2022 We're very excited to be working on a project to develop a Nharangga Cultural Centre and we'd love everyone's feedback. We'd appreciate if you'd fill in our survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/nharanggaprogress We believe that a cultural centre would be of benefit to the entire community: share information about our proud, skilled people and rich history, provide jobs, and opportunities for people to make money from small businesses, as well as the provision of social programs, learning and training, and enable us to keep researching our traditional pre-European culture and traditions. We’ll be able to build a significant cultural asset base to keep Nharangga culture alive and well for future generations.
