25.01.2022 Narembeen Golf What a ripper year! What a ripper club! The season has ended, clubs are packed away and families are re-united with their fathers. Golf boomed in Narembeen this year and it has unearthed some serious talent. We had golf Closing Day on Sunday with a Mixed Ambrose and it is sooo good to par the course, participate in many birdies and some eagles! The winners were Mikes Mob (Mike Currie, Kyla Padfield, and Hendy Cowan) beating Jodies Boys (Jodie Maringoni, Arron... Lyon, Brendan Parsons, and Mic Toovey) The day finished off with tea cooked by the mighty P&C and then presentation of all the really important trophies. These winners have all been acknowledged previously. President Greg Vaughan thanked his wonderful executive of Julie Hayter (Sec/Treas), Captains Maxine Miolini and Tim Cusack and course manager Mike Currie. Without their fantastic contribution in this weird year we could easily have struggled. Our thanks to you all. The sad part of the evening was farewelling Jodie and Dean Maringoni who have contributed so much to our club this year. Come back often for a visit and golf, of course. Please dont forget the ladies busy bee at 9am on 28th to prepare for the wedding on the 3rd Oct and Greg Vaughan will organise bar staff from our members so please everyone pitch in. That is it! 2020 done n dusted! See you all next April and thank you all for being such great club members. Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S& C Padfield, The Cusack Family, IGA Narembeen, Elders Narembeen, Total AG Narembeen, Liberty Fuels, Narembeen Tyre Service and Narembeen Roadhouse. 24.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Well she did it again! Congratulations to Julie Hayter who won the Ladies A Grade Championship over her sister Maxine Miolini. It was a good game and condolences to Maxine who was a very worthy opponent but I think we are really all going to have to up the ante to give Julie a challenge next year. Whilst they battled it out over 36 holes the rest of us played a stableford for the Rhonda Cole trophy. Many thanks Rhonda and she doesnt even play. Sherrie Heather ...won with 34 from R/p Julie Miller 30. Sherrie also won NP#12 and Miranda Noack LP. It was Fathers Day so they turned up to play golf as well. The men played the Championship Foursomes on Sunday with a great field. Paul Wanless and Adam Miolini won the gross with 79 from Mike Currie and Mic Toovey 80. Adam and Paul obviously played well as they also took out the nett with 71 from Danny Gray and John Currie on 72. Paul and Adam won #7 Best 2nd, Jake Cole and Ben Hunter the #12 Best 2nd ,Mike Currie and Mic Toovey the Long Dong#1 and NP#15. Having celebrated with their family in the morning and obviously thirsty and hungry they had a great night. The season is nearly over and a really successful one at that. Lots of young guns hammering their handicaps and generally having a good time with the oldies keeping them honest! Wed 16th is Ladies Closing Day with the club Closing Day Sunday 20th. The men will be morose and their wives rejoicing! Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S&C Padfield, The Cusack Family, IGA Narembeen, Elders Narembeen, Total Ag Narembeen, Liberty Fuels and Narembeen Roadhouse.

24.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Match play at its best. Eight am, sun shining, course mowed, greens swept and 30 men champing at the bit to get out there and see who is going to come out on top. The 4 grades of eliminations got under way and some really good scores put the pressure on. There were some epic contests, fathers v sons v brothers-in-law v brothers v cousins v oldies v good mates. Then a lunch break and winners went out there again and the losers commiserated whilst playing for fu...n, money or pride? The results- Next Sunday are the finals of the Ladies and Mens Championships with the A Grade playing 36 holes and the rest 18. Julie Hayter and sister Maxine Miolini, will battle out Ladies A Grade and Maree Campbell and Jodie Maringoni in B. The men in A Grade are Dean Maringoni v John Currie, B Grade Brendan Parsons v Shane Biddulph, C Grade Stephen Padfield v Cody Duncan and D Grade Russ Arnold v Paul Wanless. Congratulations, good luck and good golfing to you all. Please everyone come and cheer and support our champions and sweepstakes is on for all of us mugs. On Wednesday the ladies played a stableford under mint conditions so we dont know what went wrong when only 2 got more than 30 pts. Nola Parsons, fresh from a holiday, got over the line with 31 from Julie, who missed the last putt, 30. We are not talking about the rest except the arvo tea and wine was great. Nola Parsons won NP #17, Maxine Miolini Best 2nd # 7and Julie Hayter the Birdies Nest.A small group played on Sunday and Miranda Noak (she's back) won with a super 35 pts from Carol Currie on 34. Our sympathy to Bags, Shelley, Toots, Bill and families on the loss of their mother, our Betty Price. She was a wonderful contributor to our club over many years as Patroness, Captain and Handicap Manager and much more. Special thanks to our fairies who left the clubhouse in great order last Sunday. The cleaners are forever in your debt. Another thanks to Mitch Miolini for the door weather guard. No doubt about it, if you want a top job done the Miolinis are IT! There will be a pizza and chip night after the finals on Sunday. Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S&C Padfield, The Cusack Family, IGA Narembeen, Elders Narembeen, Total Ag Narembeen, Liberty Fuels and Narembeen Roadhouse. 23.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Were back! There is a tinge of green, the fire pit is cold and Joans house is closed. The club house is open-with all the Covid regulations in place, after a very stressful busy bee and the numbers we are getting remind me of the halcyon days of golf. Following 30 players last week the men had 24 on Sunday and it was a stroke, 2nd qualifying round and Brian Cusack trophy. Pretty impressive- as were the scores. Weeks of frustration and practise paid off in a ...Continue reading

23.01.2022 Narembeen Golf They say Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun but we have mad women who play golf in howling wind and dust storms and dont pull out! Last Wednesday, 11 mad women played a par, for Darien Pascoes trophy, defying the elements and some having a half decent score. Winner, with an amazing +2 Sherrie Heather and R/up Kyla Padfield +1 and good scores went to Anita Cowan-1 and Jodie Maringoni and Darien Pascoe -2. N/P 15 Kyla Padfield, LP no6 Noela... Cole and Birdies Nest went to Maxine Miolini. Well done to all of you for sheer perseverance!!! On Sat/ Sun we had a golf pro, Brayden Mc Cubbing, give lessons to 24 aspiring and experienced golfers. It was fantastic and some people even found out how to hit the ball straight! He will be back to follow up on their progress. On Sunday, 3 men from Golf WA also joined us to see why we have such a booming club and to follow up on how we spent our proceeds of the Sands. They were very enthusiastic and joined in the comp which was great. The men played a stroke, qualifying round for the Presidents Trophy and boy did those lessons help a few. Twenty five hit off and Jake Cole creamed the field with a 65 nett and Cody Duncan shot a lazy 68 to be R/up on a c/b from Mitch Miolini and Bruce Parsons. Good scores were Greg Vaughan 69, Tim Cusack, Glen Sands and Scott Stirrat 71, Adam Miolini 72 and Dean Maringoni 73. Gross winner was Rod Tremlett 77 on a c/b from Greg Vaughan 77. Best 2nd no 18 Tim Cusack, NP no15 Danny Grey, Best 2nd no 8 Shane Biddulph and Long Dong no1 Bruce Parsons. Quite a few blokes now have lost more strokes- Jake Cole on a 29, Cody Duncan 23, Mitch Miolini 17, Adam Miolini 18 and left hand, right hand Sheldon Miller 25 so their heads will be down even more. Seven women also played a stableford and winner was evergreen Miranda Noak 33 from Joan Cusack 32 on a c/b from Maree Campbell and Sherrie Heather 31. Considering it was the shortest day of the year we all got around quickly and finished with proverbial party pies and sausage rolls. Next week the men play a par, for Mike Curries trophy and apparently the women are having a pennant match against Corrigin on the 3rd July at Narembeen See more

23.01.2022 On Wednesday the Ladies held their first stroke round for the season. We had 13 players competing for Anita Cowans trophy. Congratulations to Julie Hayter who won the day with a 74 nett. Julie also won the gross ball with an 84 gross. Runner-up was Joan Cusack with 75 nett. Other best scores went to Anita Cowan and Noela Cole with 76 nett. Nearest the pin on Number 2 was Miranda Noack and Gina guided in the longest putt on Number 18. Anita Cowan was the winner of the lea...st amount of putts competition with 28 putts. Thanks to Joan for welcoming us into her warm toasty house for drinks and nibbles. This Wednesday 3rd June we have a stableford event playing for Sherrie Heathers trophy. On Sunday 29 men played a stableford competition for the Total AG/Nutrien Trophy donated by Azza and Kel Lyon. The winner of the day was Matt Mellor from Bunbury with 41 points. Matt is Julie and Robert Hayters Son-In-Law. Dont think anyone told him that he should perhaps hit the road back to Bunbury but I am sure a lot thought it!! Runner-up with 39 points Adam Miolini. Third on a count back was Brendan Parsons with 38 points from Ray Padfield. Other good scores were Ty Lumsden with 35 and Shane Biddulph with 33. Novelties went to Matt Mellor best 2nd No14, Mike Currie longest drive No 1, Pete Cowan best 2nd No 8 and Bruce McKerrow was nearest the pin on No 17. Only three ladies ventured out on Sunday playing stableford. Best Score went to Carol Currie 34 points. Next Sunday June 7th is a stroke round , 2nd qualifying round for Brian Cusacks trophy and the Ladies will play sweepstakes. THE CLUBHOUSE WILL BE OPEN YAY. WE WILL BE HAVING A CASSEROLE TEA AFTER THE DAYS PLAY. IF YOU CANNOT SUPPLY A CASSEROLE PLEASE ORGANISE A PIZZA FROM THE ROADHOUSE.

23.01.2022 Mens Elimination this Sunday Please be there by 8:00am for an 8:30am hitoff

20.01.2022 Narembeen Golf It was beautiful out there though not all scores reflected it! Robert Hayter was a happy one. The course has been mowed and looks in great nick considering the lack of rain. The Currie men did the hard yards this week but we need volunteers to keep at it. On Sunday the men played a qualifying stroke round, for the very prestigious Patrons, Hendy Cowan, trophy. Robert Miolini had a day out, winning both the gross 79 and the nett 71.It does run in this family be...cause Mitch Miolini was runner up with 73 and putting the boots into brother Adam, who is hot on his tail regarding handicaps. Shane Biddulph 73 was the unlucky one losing on a C/b from Mitch. Aaron Lyon and evergreen 92 year old Mic Toovey shot a 74. He shot a gross 92- his age and oh how we all envy him. N/P no2 Shane Biddulph, Long Dong no 1 Adam Miolini, Best 2nd no 14 Glen Sands and N/P no 15 Mickey Thomas. Mitch was rewarded with a drop in handicap to 16Go Adam. The women played for the Gina DeLuis trophy, the last stroke round and Julie Miller also thought the course was great with a 69nett. With 25 putts who said this game tests you? Darien Pascoe continues great form as R/up on 72 and Noela Cole 75. Carol Currie won the gross and NP no 9 was Maxine Miolini. Our eliminations have been brought forward to 29th July so we had all better start practising. On Sunday the women played a stableford and our losing C/back Queen, Maree Campbell, finally broke through and won a c/back from Maxine Miolini with 36. This was particularly good as captains dont generally lose a count back!! The girls also played an entertaining (for some) Russian stableford and Maree and Maxine won that too. A few notes There is only sweepstakes on this Wed because of Bill Baileys funeral Corrigin have asked for a return pennant game for the 24th July so names into Maxine please Women you need partners for the Jubilee Foursomes next Wednesday 15th. Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S&C Padfield, The Cusack Family and IGA Narembeen See more

19.01.2022 On Wednesday the Ladies played a stroke round for Carol Curries Trophy. We had 12 ladies play and Annette joined us for 9 holes. Welcome to Nat Kilminster who came along for a hit. The winner of the day was Marie Campbell with 71 nett. Runner-up was Anita Cowan with 72 nett. Gross ball went to Jul Hayter with 84 off the stick. Other good scores were Maxine Miolini 73 nett and Jodie Maringoni 73 nett. Pinnies went to Nat Kilminster and Noela Cole. Sunday 24 Men played a... stableford for Robert Miolinis trophy. The trophy didnt venture too far as Mitch Miolini was the winner with 40points. Runner-up was Tim Cusack with 37points on a countback from Cody Duncan. Other good scores were Ty Lumsden, Brendan Parsons and Sheldon Miller with 36, Azza Lyon with 35 and Bevan Thomas 34. Pinnies went to Dean Maringoni (Long drive No 1 nearly on the green!!), John Currie and Tim Cusack. Mitch Miolini, Tim Cusack, Cody Duncan, Sheldon Miller and Azza Lyon all have a lower handicap to play to now. 7 ladies played a stableford and not to be outdone by Mitch, Emma Miolini took out the honours with 39 points. Emma also now has a little lower handicap. Runner-up was yes you guessed it Anita Cowan with 33 points. This Wednesday the Ladies will play Par for Dariens trophy and Sunday the men have a stroke round 3rd qualifying for the Presidents trophy. The day concluded with a hamburger tea provided by Kim Gough. This Saturday and Sunday , Brayden McCubbing will be at the Golf Club for golf lessons. See more

19.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Mic Toovey, Mk 2, strikes again! For those who dont know, 92 year old Mic Toovey, plays our course 360 days a year-through flies, sun, rain and hail. Well, we have a new golfer, Sheldon Miller, who has a severe case of the golfing bug and can be seen emulating the great man and out there every day. We are sure that Ebony is impressed to return from holidays so he could play on Sunday. Lucky for him he won again and broke his handicap to 24 by winning the Elder...s trophy with 38pts. The club is thinking of invoking professional handicap consideration on those that play 7 days a week. John Currie flew the flag for the oldies, as R/p, with 36 from Paul Wanless and Brendan Parsons 35, Cody Duncan and Scott Stirrat 34 and Peter Cowan and Tim Cusack 33. Brendan Parsons won the Long Dong, Best 2nd no 7 John Currie, Best 2nd no 14 Dean Maringoni and NP no 17 was Jake Cole. Besides Sheldon, the other handicap changes were Cody Duncan 20, Scott Stirrat 11 and Peter Cowan 29. Hooray for you Pete. Whilst the men played, so did 5 women-or at least we were out there. Between being tree lovers, a totaliser agency and choosing between big and little (???? censored) things Julie Hayter managed some respectability with 33pts, Joan Cusack flew for 9 holes for a 31 and the rest apparently werent worth rewarding. Or at least that is what Captain Maxine Miolini said! After, we adjourned to the clubhouse for Miolini ding sausages, footy and an Eagles win! YES. The ladies play their return pennant game with Corrigin on Frid, the Mixed Club Foursomes Championship, choose partners, is on Sat afternoon and the men are playing an intra club pennant game on Sunday. That will be awesome- even just for the sledging and all men are asked to come and play some match play. Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S&C Padfield, The Cusack Family and IGA Narembeen See more

17.01.2022 We have a Golf Coach who will come to Narembeen for coaching. We need to know if we have enough interest to get Brayden McCubbing to come from Perth. Brayden is from Kondinin and works at Marangaroo Golf Club. The travel costs will be covered by the Golf Club. The cost of the lessons are $50 for half an hour which Brayden has recommended as sufficient time. You can take the option of an hour lesson for 2 people but once again Brayden did say an hour is a long time for a lesson. The lessons are available to Men and Women. Could you please indicate by mobile to Tim Cusack 0427 330120 or Maxine Miolini 0429616030 if you are interested in having a lesson so we know if it is worthwhile getting Brayden to come out. If sufficient numbers we are looking at approximately two weeks time. We will need your replies by Monday 8th June.

16.01.2022 Narembeen Golf The contests are over, the results are in and we acknowledge a new men’s champion of the Narembeen Golf Club. Congratulations Dean Maringoni and well done on beating that crafty older bloke John Currie who certainly is hard to triumph over. A great game with some awesome shots- some disappearing into the stratosphere they were so big! The other successful winners were in B Grade Shane Biddulph over Brendan Parsons, C Grade Cody Duncan over Stephen Padfield and ...D Grade Paul Wanless over Russel Arnold. All worthy winners and some great golf was played by all. Match play certainly tests your resolve and concentration. The ladies have only played their B Grade final and again the Maringoni name triumphed when Jodie defeated Maree Campbell in a terrific game. Congratulations Jodie. The A Grade will be played this Wednesday. The leftover men played an Ambrose and Aaron Lyons blitzed some holes and together with Brian Cusack took home the bacon with 49pts from Scott Stirrat and Karl Browning 42, from Tim Cusack and Peter Cowan 41. Gee Karl, you should have started at the beginning of the season. Last Wednesday the ladies played for the prestigious Patroness, Di Miolini, Trophy and Nola Parsons won the day with 39pts from Jodie Maringoni 36 and Julie Miller 34 who also won NP#15. A real honour. 16.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Wallabies! Echidnas! Kangaroos! Not sure this isnt a Wadderin Reserve report! The Kangaroos hopped miles ahead with the Wallabies desperately trying to catch up, whilst the Echidnas dawdled over the line a distant 3rd. Twenty one men played an intra-club pennant game on Sunday in teams of seven and the completion was fierce and the match play shenanigans didnt all work. On Saturday we played the Club Mixed Foursomes Championship, where no blood was spilt, n...o tears shed, no divorces ensured and the winners of the gross were Carol and Mike Currie with 80 from Maxine and Robert Miolini 83 R/up on a C/b from Noela and John Currie. Noela and John won the nett on a C/b from Carol and Mike with a 73 . Longest putt #4 Julie Hayter and Paul Wanless, Best 2nd #5 was Noela and John and NP#15 were Maxine and Robert. Last Wed the ladies played the Jubilee Foursomes and Julie Hayter playing great golf helped drag Joan Cusack over the line to win with 37 from Julie Miller and Gina Deluis R/up with 35. Julie and Gina put on a superb display of LONG driving! Good scores were Noela Cole and Jodie Maringoni on 29 and Longest Putt#1 was Gina and Julie and Best 3rd #11 Julie and Joan. The ladies played a return pennant match against Corrigin on Friday but this time fell short. Their course is in great condition and all enjoyed their day. Apparently Hyden/ Newdegate are interested in matches in 2021. This Wed we play our elimination round and congrats go to Julie Hayter who finished on top of the ladder after our stroke rounds. We have an A and B grade and with people unable to play so our ladies club is doing really well. Good luck to everyone. Please ensure all footmarks are removed from bunkers especially #2 and #14. 15.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Not to out done by the women, on Sunday, amongst more rain, the men played a par, for Mike Curries trophy. No one was game not to turn up in case it put the mocker on a decent drop. Yes they all got wet except for a clever group that joined the ladies CWA meeting in the clubhouse whilst the worst fell from the clouds. The winner, Tim Cusack, obviously concentrated and had a great +1 and r/up on a c/b Glen Sands square from Dean Maringoni. Good scores were Robe...rt Hayter and Paul Wanless -1, Scott Stirrat -2 and Aaron Lyon and Mike Currie -3. Peter Cowan was the other ball winner. Long Dong no1 (wow) and Best 2nd no16 went to G Sands, Best 2nd no12 D Maringoni and N/P no9 Marty Farrell. Aaron and Dean both lost a stroke and Dean is now on a very impressive 4. The pressure is on Dean! On Wed the ladies played for Joan Cusacks trophy- a stroke and Noela Cole was super good, winning the nett with a 71 and her first gross ball with 89. Great to see you out there and playing so well Noela. Maree Campbell was unlucky to be r/up on a c/b also with 71. Good scores were Julie Miller 73 and perennial Anita Cowan and Jodie Maringoni 75. The pinnies were N/P no 9 Noela and L/P no14 Carol Currie. Five ladies played on Sunday but decided to revive the CWA and hold a meeting instead. This Friday our very innovative ladies are holding a pennant match against Corrigin and I have no doubt it will be very competitive. Well done our captain Maxine Miolini for organising it. Gina and Sherrie have organised a banquet to follow. Good luck to those playing and dont lose!!!! See more

14.01.2022 Narembeen Golf Cold, Wet, Windy, and still they played! Golfers in Narembeen seem to be addicted. Firstly the women showed true grit and played 30 holes Championship Foursomes whilst the cold seeped into their bones. They were truly dedicated to the cause. The Gross winners on a C/b were Maxine Miolini and Jodie Maringoni with155 from Julie Hayter and Anita Cowan whilst the winners of the Nett were Darien Pascoe and Gina DeLuis 126 on a C/b from Maxine and Jodie. N/P #9 wer...e Carol Currie and Julie Miller and Best 3rd #11 were Anita and Julie. The fire and food were very welcome at the end of a long, cold day. Not to be outdone the men fronted up on a wet, windy, cold Sunday but declined to play their foursomes and opted to play a quick 12 hole Ambrose and then cheer for the Eagles. The happy winners were Jake Cole (again!), Karl Browning and Mike Currie and all were very happy to return to the clubhouse to thaw out. Just some reminders B C Cusack Cup this Sunday 16th August is two events Best Individual Stableford score and also for the Traders Cup the Best Combined Stableford. Names in By 11.15 and shotgun start at 12. Please all get a partner and enjoy. There is a busy bee at the club at 9am on Thursday and a good turn up would be appreciated to clean up all the broken tree limbs. Very special thanks to Cody Transport for bringing fencing material up free of charge. It is very much appreciated. Catering has been organised by Gina and Sherrie so should be great. Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S&C Padfield, The Cusack Family and IGA Narembeen

14.01.2022 Narembeen Golf The Narembeen Golf Club is famous for many things especially the wildflowers that are massed across the course at the moment. If you havent seen it- Go Now! What you didnt realise that our mens toilets have questionable antics going on, much to the chagrin of our menfolk and hilarity of the women. All queries are to be directed to our aptly named vice captains Nola Cole and Jodie Maringoni! The ladies played for the Pink Cancer Day on Wednesday with a 4 ba...ll combined stableford. A very close encounter resulted in Darien Pascoe and Noela Cole 56 defeating Jodie Maringoni and Joan Cusack 55. Such good scores! That the dandelions didnt help, is our only defence. Joan got the NP#17, LP#14 and the raffle. On Sunday the course had been mowed so we can offer no excuses. Jodie Maringoni won with 34(reasonably respectable) from Joan on 30. Still the walk around the beautiful flowers was worth it we think. The men played for the Jake Cole trophy a 4BBB stableford and the best news ever was that Colin Ogilvie carried Dean Maringoni over line to win with a 46 from Danny Gray and Mike Currie 44 and Brian Cusack and Brendan Parsons 42. The clubhouse erupted with joy. The Long Dong#1 Brendan Parsons, Best 2nd Tim Cusack and Sheldon Miller, Best 2nd #14 Hendy Cowan and John Currie and NP#17 Robert Miolini. They finished off the day with some questionable shooting to the 8th from Tee#1. WHY? You may well ask. The Club Closing Day is Sunday 20th, a mixed ambrose followed by the windup and trophy presentation. Please all make an effort to attend and applaud the trophy winners and bring this wonderful year to an end. Please reply on Facebook or ring Julie Hayter with your RSVP asap. Many thanks to our great sponsors Brownley Plumbing, NB Engineering, Sonic Boomsprays, NB Medical, Motive Travel, Varley Transport, Bernie Vallance, S&C Padfield, The Cusack Family, IGA Narembeen, Elders Narembeen, Total AG Narembeen, Liberty Fuels, Narembeen Tyre Service and Narembeen Roadhouse. 13.01.2022 Men’s Elimination this Sunday Please be there by 8:00am for an 8:30am hitoff

10.01.2022 Narembeen Golf We won pennants! It has been a long time since a pennant match has been played but this one kept the successful Narembeen tradition going. The Narembeen ladies played against Corrigin in an invitation match and had a great 4-1 win. The match play format is always a winner and the day was enjoyed by all-as was the food. Congratulations to Captain Maxine Miolini on the organisation. On Sunday the men played for the Varley Transport trophy so many thanks to Ty a...nd Amy. Twenty men played in beautiful conditions and Cody Duncan did it again and won the stableford with 38 on a c/b from r/up Ty Lumsden 38 on a c/b from Stephen Padfield 38. Good scores were Aaron Lyon and Ben Hunter 36, David Campbell, Greg Vaughan and Mic Toovey 35 and Shane Biddulph 34. Those handicaps keep coming down with Cody on 21, Ty on 23, Ben 27 and Greg a 7.We are all so jealous. The Long Dong no1 and Best 2nd no 12 was S Biddulph, NP no 9 was Ty Lumsden and Paul Wanless was pleased with his NP no 17. The clubhouse was raucous so the golf must have been fun- if you can ever call golf fun!! On Wednesday the ladies played a stableford for the Captains trophy and Jodie had a great day with 36 from Julie Miller 32, Carol Currie 30 and Darien Pascoe 29. Longest putt no 1 was Maxine Miolini- we think a protest was in order over the term long! The best 2nd no 6 was Jodie and NP no17 was won by Nola Parsons. On Sunday 8 ladies played and Sherrie Heather romped it in with 37pts from Emma Miolini 33, Maree Campbell 31 and Maxine Miolini 30. It was great to see Bianca Currie having a bash and picking up the NP no 2. Apologies go to Sherrie for the fiasco at presentations!!! Just a few courtesy calls- Anyone hitting balls, particularly off no 1 tee, please ensure all are picked up and not left on the course. Any non -members need to pay $5 ball fees each time they play the course. Always ensure that no marks are left in the bunkers-please always rake. The President and members wish to offer their sincere sympathy to Lydia and Steve Bailey and all the Bailey family members on the death of Bill. His contribution to the club is very much appreciated See more

06.01.2022 Tomorrow at 3pm Ian Blackers from a TV series 1Man and a Bike is going to be there as a promotion of our town's points of interest. He is keen for a few people to turn up and have a hit or a drink and enjoying our course. If you are available that would be great

06.01.2022 Wow it is busy at the golf this morning. Fence is looking smicko.

05.01.2022 Narembeen Golf They came from Bruce Rock, Nungarin, Merredin, Kondinin, Condingup, Lakelands and Yealering to play our great little course whilst we hosted the B.C.Cusack Cup and Traders Cup with 50 men participating. It was great, especially for the catering women, who remained warm and dry, whilst the men battled the cold, wet elements as they tried to get an elusive good score. One rose to the occasion, our President Greg Vaughan, blitzing the field with 39pts, nett, to ...win the B.C.Cusack Cup from Shaun Kilminster 36 and Peter Cowan 35 (YES!) on a c/b from Sheldon Miller. The gross winner was J Boyd 33 from G Vaughan 30 and Dean Maringoni 28. The Traders Cup was a combined stableford and nett winners were Sheldon and Greg 74 from Karl Browning and A Manton 67 and Dean and Paul Maringoni 62 on a c/b from Shane Biddulph and Brendan Parsons. The gross winners were J Boyd and C Sedgewick 57 from Greg and Sheldon 44 on a c/b from Dean and Paul. The club is very appreciative of all the sponsorship they receive, usually annually, from the sponsors listed below. Thank you very much. Also thanks to all those playing/ non playing women who cooked up a storm for us. The men were ravenous for hot food after the frigid conditions. The clubhouse interior has had a refurbishment with paint and floor coverings and a new fence looks pretty good-proceeds from the State Sands in 2019. Last Wed the ladies played a par and Joan Cusack won with a -3 from Jodie Maringoni -4. Yes the course is getting harder with some odd capeweed bounces near the greens! Jodie also won NP #2 and Anita Cowan LP #18. Not much good golf but I think we were all sad that Sheilagh Peterkin was leaving us for home. Safe travels Sheilagh you have been great company but remember to come back. On Sunday the men play their elimination rounds and we have A, B, C and D grades for the first time for a while. Many men will be playing their first and the matchplay format will be a great challenge. Good luck to all those playing and congrats to Dean Maringoni for finishing at #1.
