24.01.2022 Fact: these are the best cherries EVER. And we are now stocking them at the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre! Introducing Rothwood Cherries, operated in Mudgee and owned by a Narrabri based family. Guy and Ingrid Roth split their time between Narrabri and Mudgee, spending longer periods at their orchard during harvest. Essentially, the cherries are grown in Mudgee, but make their way back to the Narrabri Region to be packaged locally! ... We currently have 2 varieties of their delicious cherries in stock: Cherries in Vermouth: poached in botanical flavours of Pipeclay Vermouth from the Pieter van Gent winery. Delicious on desserts! The combination of Michelle and David Barry's reworked 1959 Holden FC panel van and 1978 Viscount pop top caravan were a sight to behold. Hard to miss, this bright green, mean machine was lovingly restored by Michelle and David. 11.01.2022 A rare sighting in the Narrabri Region! Four species of egret have been found nesting in one location, at the Narrabri West lake. This is a rare occurrence, as egret colonies are not commonly recorded in the Namoi Valley. In fact this seems to be the only one currently in the Northern Murray Darling Basin! Pictured here are the Cattle Egret, that are currently displaying an apricot plumage for the breeding season, and the Eastern Great Egret, also boasting blue eye plumag...e for breeding season. 06.01.2022 Meet the newest member of the Namoi Echo Museum! Bringing a blast from the past, this piece of history has gone under an extensive makeover to restore it to its former glory. This magnificent machine is a M-12-H model, International Harvester single row cotton picker that was produced in 1948. The restoration was a long process that saw owners and Wee Waa locals Ronan and Wendy Revell search, and even travel, far and wide for the right parts for the job. With the help of ma...ny passionate volunteers, the classic red picker is now back in action! This crown jewel is now housed at the Namoi Echo Museum in Wee Waa, for locals and travellers to enjoy Discover the days of Wee Waa's past with a trip to the Namoi Echo Museum - Open Thursday/Friday 10am-3pm; Saturday 10am - 4pm.

05.01.2022 Care for a local story or two? After hearing about some historical buildings that were destined to be demolished, Judith Cameron knew she had to do something to preserve their history. Judith took photos of the buildings and then proceeded to hand sketch them, to further capture their grand detail. Due to a growing number of public interest, it was suggested that Judith put the drawings as well as relative stories from local community members into a book. After many years o...f hard work and dedication, Judith completed the book, even teaching herself how to use the computer in order to put it all together! These books are incredibly captivating and offer an insight into the history of the Narrabri Region, straight from the locals' mouths!
