23.01.2022 Day 4 of NAIDOC week artists is Thelma Plum Thelma is a proud Gamilaraay woman and is an amazing singer/song writer. Check out her album ‘Better in Blak’ and the title song that is super emotional. I picked homecoming queen as it is raw and outlines how she felt growing up

21.01.2022 To all my beautiful SaCC families- I will be on unexpected leave all this week due to family reasons. Unfortunately this means Tiny Tots and T2S playgroups will definitely be cancelled. 12.01.2022 So with a little sadness I reflected back on 2020 in SaCC. There was such little time spent with my playgroup families this year due to the COVID restrictions but the time I did spend with these beautiful people was enjoyed no less. I captured so many laughs and smiles but it was these portraits I loved the most Thank you to my Tiny Tot and Little Boori families for your support of the sacc program this year despite everything and I can’t wait to continue watching your babies grow more in 2021. Happy New Year- much love Mel

12.01.2022 For tonight’s NAIDOC artist is the amazing Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu -commonly known as Gurrumul and also referred to since his death as Dr G. Yunupingu. This amazing indigenous artist was from Arnhem Land and sang in language as well as English, played many instruments with his solo career as well as in bands Yothu Yindi and saltwater band. Despite being born blind Gurrumul endeavoured to pass on his love of music and stories from his aunties. His music always gives me goosebumps

Was awesome to see over 600 pieces of fruit were consumed in all 4 classes just in term 4-which is amazing I can’t wait until next year with our new classes and new kindergarten students to see if we can smash new records for the Golden Pineapple Big thanks to all our NPS families for supporting the SaCC fruit rewards- the kids really love the draw each week and everyone wins really- healthy happy kids and the chance to be rewarded for making good choices cheers Mel

04.01.2022 As part of my role here at SaCC I do lots of different things. This semester I completed a well-being program with our kids in stage 1 about self esteem, emotional regulation, resilience and empathy. It’s focus was changing negative (red) thoughts to positive (green) thoughts. One of our students came into SaCC this morning with this very special jar. She thanked me for helping her this year and said thank you for filling my bucket- now I’ve filled up yours My bucket is overflowing with tears in my eyes. Words do make a difference people- always be kind and your happiness bucket will be filled in return

04.01.2022 Sorry for missing the last 2 days- I was away being a mum xx Today’s pick makes my heart happy. I love the passion these boys sing with and love they sing in language- but mostly because they are having so much fun xx

01.01.2022 This is spot on. How do you fill your cup to ensure that you can help fill your child’s? Or show them how to fill it themselves? Invest time in yourself and with them
