25.01.2022 It was great to see Peter Blythe, Managing Director of Dynamic Steel Frame (DSF), a fabricator of framing #madefromTRUECORE steel, on The Block last night on ...site with Luke and Jasmin, and then in the DSF factory with Keith. This is DSF’s fourth year working with The Block this year designing, prefabricating and supplying the frames for the new extentions, studies and garages. There were some challenges this year with five extremely complex houses said Mr Blythe. Thorough planning was key to ensuring that the build would go as seamlessly as possible for the contestants and their trades. The DSF team was forward-thinking in how they approached the design and used 3D modelling to assist the fixers throughout the build. .. A lot of work went into the modelling to make sure it was faithful to the architectural intent. By doing this early on with a mouse, it was much easier than with a hammer and nails onsite. We did all of the design upfront in CAD or 3D and we integrated the structural steel, the lightweight steel and all of the architectural requirements. So, when we manufactured and rolled the frames, they were perfect for purpose. To learn more visit: http://spr.ly/6181Gau8D #theblock #TRUECOREsteel #theinnerStrength #DynamicSteelFrame

21.01.2022 A couple of pics of a current project we are working on at Hamlyn Terrace. This is an extension of the existing aged care facility located on the Central Coast.... Newcastle Steel Frames and Trusses have designed, fabricated and installed this project and successfully overcome the challenge of marrying up the existing facilities tile roof into the new extension. We have also completed the addition of an extra 20 beds to this project all featuring frames and trusses made from TRUECORE steel. More pics and drone footage to follow. #NewcastleSteelFrames #TRUECOREsteel #madefromTRUECOREsteel #TheInnerStrength #bluescopeaus @ Hamlyn Terrace TRUECORE steel See more

19.01.2022 #TRUECOREsteel #HallofFrame: The Block 2020 Back to Houses. Frames #madefromTRUECOREsteel help to deliver efficiency in this complex and fast-paced build. J...ulian Brenchley, the lead architect on The Block, designed each house to be its own individual entity, while ensuring that they did not look out of place within the existing streetscape. This year he included many architectural features such as unusual rooflines and sky-high ceilings. Additional challenges that needed to be accomplished within the famously tight timelines! Fabricators and The Block veterans Dynamic Steel Frame, were delighted to once again be involved in such a unique project. The atmosphere is challenging said Managing Director, Mr Blythe, But it’s very rewarding, especially when you’re on the ground working directly with the contestants, to make their vision a reality. 18.01.2022 Lots of chatter about TRUECORE steel on The Block this week as the contestants start to put together the first room in the spectacular new extentions - the Gue...st Bedroom. Did you see the steep pitched roof on George and Sarah’s house? They have the tallest rear extension with frames #madefromTRUECOREsteel and clad in COLORBOND steel #SurfmistMatt, helping maximise the light coming into their home and giving a really strong first impression from the street-front. We also saw Harry and Tash, chatting with Peter Blythe, Managing Director of Dynamic Steel Frame, about modifying some of their existing frames #madefromTRUECOREsteel. This is Peter’s fourth year on The Block, and he described the process, saying: I was there every Monday marking up the frames for each team. We would draw up any changes on my computer, I’d email them back to the factory and in the time it took me to drive back to the factory, the frames were made and I would drive them back to site. 15.01.2022 The 2019/2020 summer bushfire season in Australia has seen the loss of human lives and residential properties, along with agricultural and commercial businesses, wildlife and forests. Given that approximately 3000 homes were destroyed by the bushfire, their rebuilding will inevitably see many enquiries to NASH members regarding bushfire design solutions. Accurate and complete information on NASH Standards in the hands of designers, engineers and builders will ensure that stee...l framed construction is considered as one of the solutions in the rebuilding process. State and Territory governments declare bushfire prone land within their jurisdictions and new dwellings on such land must be constructed to resist bushfire attack. The National Construction Code contains two Deemed-To-Satisfy solutions for construction in designated bushfire areas: AS 3959 and the NASH Standard Steel Framed Construction in Bushfire Areas. Either standard can be used in all states . Construction using the NASH Bushfire Standard provides for high-performance, cost-effective construction using traditional construction methods. It offers the following benefits and savings: Simpler design with a single solution up to BAL-40 and another for BAL-FZ Windows and doors with appropriate rating for the relevant BAL BAL-FZ roof solution uses standard steel roof sheeting with foil-backed insulation blanket reliable and low cost BAL 12.5-40 roof solution does not require additional ember protection at ridges, eaves and junctions Steel fascia can be used for spans up to 1200 mm for all BAL levels No need to provide ember protection to brick weep holes and subfloor vents Normal steel framed building and cladding practices can be adopted in bushfire areas The NASH Standard covers all forms of non-combustible wall claddings eg steel, brick, masonry, AAC, fibre cement etc Reduced damage impacts for faster rebuilding and community recovery The use of non-combustible materials for the cladding and building structure and adjacent fencing provides a high level of protection against ember and flame attack. BlueScope has developed a brochure, based on the NASH Bushfire Standard, to help with the application of BlueScope products in bushfire areas. This will assist you in offering a better and more cost effective solution to your customers when building in bushfire areas. The NASH Bushfire Standard can be purchased from NASH.

07.01.2022 Framing #madefromTRUECOREsteel helped transform 5 old houses into luxury family homes. The Block architect, Julian Brenchley knew that he had included some cha...llenging pieces into the design and was really pleased to be using framing made from TRUECORE steel to bring his vision to life. The flexibility of the materials and the structure made our job much easier. We get straight walls and it’s a really good system in how it comes together offsite, before arriving onsite. Plus, the steel in TRUECORE steel is 100% recyclable, making these frames a great choice to help conserve resources, which is a big tick from me. It’s been a really, really good experience.
