22.01.2022 Wow, what a great afternoon of barefoot bowls! The Nasty's team gathered for some fun and good food, cold drinks and good company- with their competitive streak coming out... we were missing a few due to medical recoveries...4x4 bogging (let's be honest that's great fun too)...falling kids...but everyone is safe and well today! Thankyou Team Nasty, for you support this year, of the business, but most importantly support for each other. Its been a trying year under the COVID... shadow but you've stepped up showed strength and character throughout. Its particularly difficult having to ask customers to "comply" because one is never sure of the reaction but 99.9% of our customers were terrific so thanks to our customer support base from Mareeba and surrounds. The Mba Bowling crew need a big Thankyou- very patient ... was so much fun and thanks to Rena and Angela from Catering with Class for a delicious spread - extra tasty because we didn't have to cook! 19.01.2022 PAY IT FORWARD Since May 2020 (as a Mother's Day promo) I've been handing out meals to locals who have been nominated by others to receive a "Random Act of Kindness ". The only catch is that if you are on the receiving end you must PAY IT FORWARD and nominate another deserving local. Every day people are doing small and sometimes insignificant acts which have a huge impact on others. A smile, a hello, a "here let me get that for you ", short 5 cents - here it is, I'll pay for the next person's coffee ... endless acts of kindness that really go to the core of humanity "I see you". 12.01.2022 Yesterday between errands for the Cafe while in Cairns we took a coffee break. Byrne's St Mareeba has had a roll of upgrades, renewals, reseals, installations and we are coming back around for another round, this time a redo or updo! So we like to support independent shops/ cafes and decided to see what's happening on the Cairns Nard... well those poor businesses...still major works happening, still a nightmare to navigate and all mixed in with covid! We found an icecream... / coffee shop and enjoyed a great coffee with great sea views. Today top it off, a man gave us his paid parking ticket because he was leaving so BONUS free park... Today and tonight when I have to navigate our main street I will send them my good vibes and not winge about our main street. People thank you if your that person who takes the extra trouble to navigate the arrows the flashing lights etc and makes it through to support independent small local businesses - we all appreciate it.
