21.01.2022 Carrying your handbag on one shoulder causes you to load the shoulder with excess weight and asymmetry in the body. Carrying a cross body bag ditributes the weight more evenly through the body causing less load through the neck and shoulders.

20.01.2022 Upper Cross Syndrome. This week end I am heading to Sydney to do a course on Upper Cross Syndrome. This is something that is becoming more prevalent with the u...se of electronic devices. What is Upper Cross Syndrome? It is a configuration of overlapping overactive and underactive muscle groups in the neck, chest and shoulders. Typically it is caused by poor posture which can occur when using electronic devices, reading and driving. Characteristics include the head being in a forward position, inward curvature of the cervical spine (neck), outward curvature of the thoracics (upper back, shoulders and chest). Symptoms include neck and back stiffness and aches, headaches, jaw pain, chest pain and tightness, sore shoulder blades just to name a few. 20.01.2022 We have created a team for squat for breast cancer research. I'll be completing 55 squats every day in March. That is a total of 1705 squats! Please help me by donating the the National Breast Cancer Foundation to raise much needed funds for research. Each day 55 people are diagnosed with breast cancer. By helping me we can make a difference and hopefully reduce this number.

16.01.2022 Some great exercises for ankle strength. I know from experience! Also soft sand walking is another great way to improve ankle strength. So get those shoes off and go and wiggles those tootsies in the sand.

16.01.2022 As most of you know I had a little accident last year and have been out of action for a while. I'm back on the skates and back at Evolve Health in Figtree Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Wednesday and Friday mornings for Pilates classes. I have also just opened Tuesday evenings for massage 6-8pm starting from 10th March.

16.01.2022 The core is not just your pelvic floor. It encompasses from the diaphragm at the top to the pelvic floor at the bottom and everything in between. That's why working on your core is good for posture, back pain and pelvic floor issues. A weak pelvic floor can be caused by pregnancy and child birth as well as aging. It is important to work the whole core not just the pelvic floor. Pilates is a great way to strengthen your core. I have classes available at Evolve Health Figtree morning and evening. 03.01.2022 Here are some more foam roller techniques. I started at a new gym a month ago, going 4 times a week. I was feeling sore, especially my glutes and legs. I have started to regularly roll out on the foam roller and I am feeling much better no more sore muscles.
