23.01.2022 1000 Paper Cranes Project https://www.facebook.com/groups/658714101366009/ Did anyone remember that the first Australian Bushfire of 2019 2020, star...ted in June 2019? It is June 2020 already. Last year this time who would have thought the Covid-19 pandemic was coming to break out into our world and impact so dramatically and heavily in every single person’s life. In Australia, the government and people together tried so hard to suppress this pandemic to stop it spreading and becoming worse, and we could see the good results every day. At last we have started to feel more at ease now, although we still have to be very careful to maintain our hygiene practices and keep following regulations in public. It is called Living with Covid-19. However, last week in America, George Floyd's death caused by police officers which triggered other Americans to protest against Racism and for Fair Judgement. Unfortunately those demonstrations have escalated into chaotic riot activities all over America, plus in other countries as well. Having seen those activities on TV and social media, is depressing and make us all feel unrest. As AJA, we still can’t have a physical gathering meeting at Cafe Amore and our activities are very limited. We have therefore been having an online Kaiwa Club via Zoom. Also one of our good friends Natsumi started up a very positive project called 1000 Paper Cranes, so AJA has decided to support her group. Please read Natsumi’s message and help her along with us. Here is a message from Natsumi. From Natsumi Hello! I am Natsumi Oda, a Rotary Foundation Scholar from Japan studying a Masters of Social Work at Flinders University. In Japan, there is a tradition to make 1000 paper cranes to send a message of healing and peace. We invite you to help us make 1000 paper cranes to bring peace and healing to the world during the COVID-19 pandemic! We are aiming to collect 1000 physical cranes for an artwork to be displayed in Adelaide at the Brighton Central shopping mall. How can you involved? If you live in Adelaide, your crane can be included in this artwork and can be brought to a drop box in Brighton Foodland super market. For our FB group 1000 Paper Cranes # 1000craneletters members, we will be creating a digital art piece using your photos of cranes or positive messages. We aim to have this completed by the beginning of July. If you live far from Brighton area or you are not on Facebook, you still can make a paper crane and take a photo of it with a message to send it to Natsumi by email. For more information, please contact to Natumi: [email protected] 1000 Paper Crane Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2660318177405823&set=gm.684609575443128&type=3&theater&ifg=1 Covid-19 Covid-19 AJAAJA AJA Facebook 1000Paper Cranes#1000craneletters https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2660318177405823&set=gm.684609575443128&type=3&theater&ifg=1 Brighton Foodland Brighton Foodland 1000 Paper Crane Facebook https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2660318177405823&set=gm.684609575443128&type=3&theater&ifg=1 7 [email protected] AJA would like to support Natsumi's wonderful idea and good effort. If anyone could do the same, please join us to make 1000 Paper cranes. AJA There are many YouTube videos but here is one for you.
