25.01.2022 Are you having trouble getting interpreters for your appointments or meetings? Many people are making comments about how difficult it is to get interpreters now. 25.01.2022 Communication during COVID-19 FOR NABS CLIENTS You can ask NABS for a Support Letter so you can purchase an iPad or tablet using your NDIS funds. ... **NDIS is offering this for a short time until September 2020** NDIS recently announced you can purchase low cost/low risk assistive technology no more than $750 from Core budget. You must use this device to access supports like interpreting, communicating with your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager and so on. Before you can get the device, you need a letter of proof from your service providers. For example, NABS. You give this letter to your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). The letter provides reasons why you need a device during COVID-19 pandemic. 1) You are Deaf 2) Communication during COVID-19 pandemic - social distancing, isolation 3) Access Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) appointments via NABS Remember, NDIS is offering this for a very short time until September 2020. If you would like a Support Letter from NABS, contact us: SMS: 0427 671 261 Email: [email protected] Skype/FaceTime/Zoom is also available - contact us to arrange a time.
