19.01.2022 Good Riddance Tropical has citronella in it but it doesn’t stink. Why is that? Well, there is a real art and science to getting an essential oil blend to smell just right. Citronella is a great essential oil to use in an insect repellent because it is believed to interfere with a mozzie’s olfactory (nose) senses. This stops them from being able to smell you, but wearing citronella around other humans means they’ll be able to smell you from a mile away. It STINKS! When Je...annie was developing the Good Riddance Tropical essential oil blend, her main goal was to mask the smell of the citronella oil while still having enough active ingredients in the blend to make Good Riddance work. This is where the art and science of essential oil blending comes in. There are three notes to a fragrance blend (natural or otherwise). The top notes are usually the first thing you smell in a blend. It is the lighter, often citrusy smelling scents. These scents will evaporate the fastest. Citronella is a really intense scent and is also a top note. That's why it's such an "in your face" smell. Next you have your middle notes which are often herby. These are stronger scents that will hang around hours after the top notes have evaporated. Then there are the base notes. These are the heavier, woodier scents. Particularly strong base notes can hang around for days! By blending a range of oils from all three levels, it’s possible to not just mask the smell of citronella but to actually have it complement the other oils in the blend. This can take months and months of trial and error to find a blend that smells just right! Let us know what you think about the Tropical blend! 18.01.2022 Naturally Outdoors’ whopping 500mL pump is for real mozzie magnets who lather their GR on like it's going out of fashion and want a great value option. But there's more to the 500mL pump than saving a few bucks and it has to do with the environment. One of our biggest bug bears is the amount of plastic we as a business put out into the world. The 500mL pumps help us and our customers reduce their plastic consumption, one bottle at a time. To date, we've eliminated all plasti...c packing materials from our web orders (even our shipping bags and packing peanuts are fully compostable). And where we do use plastic packing material in our wholesale orders, we only ever reuse plastic that we receive from our ingredient and packaging suppliers. We've also joined 1% for the Planet and donate 1% of all of our sales to Australian Wildlife Conservancy so we can put the profits we generate directly into the hands of people who are doing amazing things for our beautiful country. The makers of Good Riddance are working suuuuper hard behind the scenes right now to do even better and we can't wait to share what's coming 10% Discount code: NO10 https://naturallyoutdoors.com.au/
17.01.2022 What’s wrong with deet? Most insect repellents on the market contain DEET as their active ingredient in fact, one of the most common pieces of misinformation that we hear is that you need to use a DEET-based insect repellent to be protected against the mozzies. Sure, it's an easy way to formulate a product that works, but it's certainly not the only option. DEET is a registered pesticide. It is a member of the same family of chemicals (toluenes) that are used in paint remov...ers and the solvents used in rubber and plastic cements. If you get too close to your car while you're applying DEET, chances are, you'll start to dissolve the tough wearing top coat. That's not something we wanted on our skin! Research indicates that regular exposure to DEET may lead to memory loss, headache, weakness, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, tremors and shortness of breath. It is also toxic to the liver. Children are particularly susceptible to DEET as their skin more readily absorbs chemicals and their nervous systems are still developing. We were also pretty concerned by the environmental effects of DEET. It remains highly persistent in water, soil and air. In fact, DEET is one of the most frequently detected organic contaminants in European and US streams and rivers. And testing of wastewater treatment plants found that they were not able to effectively filter out DEET. As a result, DEET has been found in sediments, soils and living organisms around waterways. Everyone worries about the effects of sunscreens on the reef what about the effects of a pesticide on aquatic flora and fauna?

14.01.2022 What if Good Riddance doesn't work for me? The effectiveness of Good Riddance relies on making sure that all of your exposed skin has been covered. If you accidently miss an area of skin, particularly tasty-smelling mozzie magnets might find that they're still attracting the mozzies to those areas. Additionally, midge bites can often take hours or even days to appear after actually being bitten. They are so small that you might be unaware of the fact that you were bitten befo...re you had the chance to apply an insect repellent. The bites can then be irritated by excessive heat or sweat, triggering that crazy itch! The first thing we would suggest doing is making sure that you have applied Good Riddance correctly, before the mozzies and midges have a chance to start biting. We do recognise, however, that there is always a chance that Good Riddance might not be the right product for you. When you apply Good Riddance to your skin, it interacts with your skin's bacterial flora and your body to produce a unique aroma on you. For most people, this will effectively repel mosquitoes and midges, however, there's a very small percentage of people who may find that Good Riddance doesn't work as well for them. We want everyone to feel like they can try a DEET-free product and not have to worry about wasting their money. That's why we offer a 100% money back guarantee if you find the product does not work for you. All you need to do is send us an email at Naturally Outdoors letting us know that you're not completely satisfied with the product and we'll be more than happy to refund you the entire cost of the product.

12.01.2022 Wondering where to buy Good Riddance? Here’s The website for Naturally Outdoors, based in Birkdale, QLD.
11.01.2022 Wondering what's the difference between our Tropical and Sensitive range? The Good Riddance Tropical contains quite a strong blend of essential oils, including citronella, which can occasionally be irritating to sensitive skin. The Good Riddance Sensitive insect repellent has been specifically formulated for babies 3 months and over, pregnant women and children with eczema. The product has gone through (and passed) the same level of safety and clinical testing as our Tropical... range but contains a different blend of essential oils that are far gentler on the skin. We recommend always doing a patch test before you use the product for the first time. See our instructions above for more information. How do I apply the Sensitive repellant? We recommend always doing a patch test before you use the product for the first time. Apply a pea-sized amount of product as close as possible to the most affected area and leave for 24 hours. If any sort of irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately. If you do not experience any irritation you may go ahead and use the product as directed. To apply the cream, dot a small amount of cream on an area of exposed skin, then gently spread the cream to cover as much skin as possible. Continue this process until cream has been applied to all exposed skin. Make sure you apply to all areas not covered by clothing, such as your neck, ears, behind your knees, under your arms, tops of feet and legs. Not only does the smell of the cream repel the mozzies, the cream itself is rich with shea butter and beeswax which create an additional physical barrier against the midges. Reapply as you feel necessary. The repellent lasts at least for 90 minutes and generally up to 3-4 hours, however, every individual and situation is different. See more

02.01.2022 How do you protect your baby from midge and mozzie bites? The Good Riddance Sensitive Insect Repellent range is the only clinically tested insect repellent in Australia that is safe to use on babies (from 3 months), sensitive skin, and during pregnancy. Everything about this product has been designed from the ground up to ensure it is safe and gentle on your skin, without compromising on effectiveness.... In fact, clinical testing shows that... Good Riddance Sensitive Insect Repellent is more effective at repelling midges and sandflies than DEET! So why do we think you'll love it? 1 The sensitive range is rich in shea butter and cocoa butter. This adds an extra layer of protection against the midges and helps hold the essential oils onto your skin for longer-lasting mozzie protection. 2 We've identified the most effective essential oils for repelling mozzies and cross-referenced that with their safety and sensitivity profile to create a unique blend, unlike anything else on the market. 3 It smells amazing! You really do need to smell it to believe it. The cream smells sweet like a flower or a beautiful perfume. Who said you had to stink like DEET or citronella to stay safe from the bites? 4 The preservative is hypoallergenic. While our Tropical range uses a food-grade, certified organic-approved preservative, sometimes it can be irritating for our friends with ultra-sensitive skin. The Sensitive range uses a natural, basil-based preservative, making it even gentler. Good Riddance Sensitive is available as a 100mL ($24.95+discount) or a large 250mL tub ($49.94 +disount).
