23.01.2022 It is great to be able to work alongside the Urrbrae Wetland and Learning Centre and to be able to share our resources to assist in the teaching of a range of aspects about the environment.

22.01.2022 2 of our amazing volunteers Anna and Katrina have been hard at work putting together brand new silkworm kits that are now available for hire! Exploring the uses and history of silk these kits are a great accompaniment to live silk worms in the classroom.

15.01.2022 Some animals are a bit hard to bring to the class room when they are alive like the Leafy Sea Dragon who inhabits our coastal waters. However our educational kits provide a chance for children to see preserved specimens and learn about them through written materials.

14.01.2022 We hope everyone enjoyed the sunny weekend as much as our Golden Bell Frog did. He is normally very shy and spends most his time hiding under the foliage in his enclosure but spent nearly the whole weekend soaking in some sun.

11.01.2022 Thanks PAC for having us out, it was a great way to kick off science week. While it may be hard to bring live ocean dwelling animals to the class room we have a range of preserved specimens for students to explore for this Deep Blue National Science Week.

10.01.2022 We hope that everyone is enjoying their holidays! Unfortunately due to work taking place at the Urrbrae Highschool our opening hours are limited next week from Tuesday the 6th to Saturday the 10th we will only be able to open from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

10.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day! We hope all the dads out there had a great day. Did you know emus are great dads sitting on the nest for up to 8 weeks with hardly any food and water to keep their eggs safe!

09.01.2022 Happy World Lizard Day! Australia really is the land of the lizards with over 860 species!

08.01.2022 It’s always hard to say goodbye to a coworker but it was time for Horatio to retire after many years of service. Here we have the handover to his successor Horatio the 2nd who will take over his role visting schools to teach about the human body.

07.01.2022 We had a visitor hanging out in a tree in front of the centre this week. Unique and endemic to Australia seeing a wild koala always brings a smile to your face.

07.01.2022 The sun is out for the start of term 4! Availability of loan animals and talks are filling up quickly so get in early to ensure your booking.

06.01.2022 Here is Milly one of our Ring-Tailed Possums very eager to get back into bed on a cold morning after finishing at one of our last educational shows for the term. We'd like to thank all our members and those who booked our shows for such a busy Term 3 all your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing everyone again in term 4!

01.01.2022 It’s Silkworm season and as you can see we have plenty available for purchase. They have an interesting life cycle and are easy to care for! All you need is access to a mulberry tree.
