19.01.2022 Almost every child has a mental health issue in the western world these days because of what Colonialism, industrialisation and consumerism have done to our world. Time to change our focus and value General Wellbeing as the priority. Then we could invest in and fix so much that's wrong in our world.

13.01.2022 Wow! Learnt so much on our #microbat #nightwalk last night at #BraesidePark with John Harris from #WildlifeExperiences (DEWLP permit) and the #FriendsOfBraesidePark! We found: 12 bats 9 ringtail possums 2 brushytail possums 3 Tawny Frogmouths (incl. 1 chick)... All unharmed! See more

12.01.2022 I'm presenting at the upcoming Nature Pedagogy conference in Melbourne!

12.01.2022 Don't forget October 21-27th is the 2019 Great Aussie Backyard Bird count! Record your observations and see if there are any new birds in your 'hood!

09.01.2022 Get your kids active outside! Nature is the best playground (not the boring playground in the neighbourhood which has eliminated almost all potential for vestibular sense development!)

09.01.2022 Beautiful! I am inspired to think how the indigenous trees in my part of Australia invoke our spirit... The whispers of a drooping Casuarina offering the sound of cool refreshing rain in the dry hot summers, the burst of happiness we get at late winter when the silver leaves spring wattle pops open its fluffy yellow pompoms of wattle blossom knowing spring renewal is to begin... http://naturelovers.net.au/2018/11/23/invocation/

05.01.2022 #BirdsInBackyards #citizenscience week download the Birdata App to contribute observations any time! I've done 4 surveys with East Bentleigh Primary School and a homeschooling group at the new #ElsternwickParkNatureReserve. We saw Pacific Black ducklings, a pair of Magpie Larks building a mud nest, recently fledged Noisy Minors being fed by parents, Noisy Minors driving a White-faced Heron away, Little Ravens fighting off other Little Ravens from territory, lots of Eurasian coots and Purple Swamp Hens... and so many more!!

04.01.2022 What a successful #Nurdlehunt at #StKildaBeach! We saved the #LittlePenguins and #Rakali and other sealife from so much litter. We learnt the #CitizenScience litter audit method (thanks to Neil "Captain Trash" Blake @ #PortPhillipEcoCentre for the training!), listened to local stories of "The time of chaos/creation of Nairm" (Boonwurrung creation story written by N'Arweet Parbonatta Carolyn Briggs) and "The Nurdle Invasion" by local authors #BeeHealthyStories We even spotted a resident penguin at the breakwater end of the pier!

03.01.2022 We need your help! Each spring, Mountain Pygmy-possums wake up from hibernation, hungry for nutritious Bogong Moths to eat. Bogong Moths usually fly to meet ...Mountain Pygmy-possums in the billions, but this hasn’t happened in the past three years. Our scientists want to know where the moths are. If you see a Bogong Moth at your home this spring, take a photo and upload it to Zoos Victoria's Moth Tracker: https://bit.ly/3caC9s4 Thanks for your help, Federation University Australia!
