17.01.2022 Mum and dad said there was one more surprise for him before we left for the hotel ready to go on the plane home to Australia. He had a wonderful sunny, bright morning at the Domain Park in Auckland watching the waddling ducks and the noisy geese by the picturesque ponds and grassed areas and running through the crinkly, crunchy sea of fallen leaves under dense tree canopies. 09.01.2022 Thank you to The Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards. The grant money for the good fortune of winning the National Educator of The Year for 2015 has given me this opportunity to visit New Zealand and see some of the amazing programs taking place for the youngest humans there. To see play based nature pedagogy offering children genuinely embedded connection with and learning through nature was a dream come true. 09.01.2022 We were welcomed by the friendly, smiling educators and children of Toybox on Rawhiti, Auckland, NZ, as we arrived to join Cathy and some children for an excursion to Cornwell Park. There was time to look around and see some of the morning play in action. This place maintained the warm, home-like feeling of previously being a family home, while obviously now being a place for learning through fun and playful adventuring. 07.01.2022 Waitangi Treaty Grounds As he peered through the crowd of people he saw the most amazing sight of all, a big boat a canoe and then, some stairs to a platform. Something was up there. What could it be? Mum and dad were very excited about this visit saying that today was about learning some New Zealand history and understanding how two very different cultures moved forward together to create the country they have today. 01.01.2022 As Albert Einstein said; "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. Let's go outside and let the children play in nature!
