16.01.2022 I'm not going to lie, my OCD goes into a touch of over drive every time I hear the gently spoken question "Can I help crack the eggs Mummy?" I don't need a crystal ball to predict the next 5 - 10 mins of my life and how that is going to go. It's no doubt going to be messy, mildly painful to watch, resulting in a slightly crunchier meal than I anticipated however what I do know is that such a timely and potentially messy expedition for us is a very rewarding confidence and... resilence building experience for my child. In one small experience she is not only learning to master a new life skill - to crack an egg - but she is learning to embrace mistakes while building her tool box of strategies to help self-regulate her emotions during times of stress. She is learning to solve problems all while building confidence in her abilities and independence.

14.01.2022 I saw this and had to have a little giggle, as it is for so many of us, our reality - each and everynight co sleeping with our infant/children. Guess what??? It is completely normal....why because your infant needs and seek closeness not only during the day but at night too Just because the sun goes down does not mean this innante desire dissipates into the darkness. Co-sleeping can certainly be a controversial topic for many - and for so many parents a conflict because ...society tells us that it is 'unsafe' to co sleep with our infants and apparently 'teaching' them to sleep in their own room fosters independance. What a load of codswoggle. This couldn't be further from the truth. Your child develops independance slowly overtime as they come to learn that their needs are met adequatly and tendered to with love, care and warmth. Our infants cry it is not a misbehaviour that needs correction, it is a physilogical response to indicate something is wrong. Please let go of expectations that your child should be sleeping through the night in their own room and don't let anyone make you feel bad for ever meeting your childs needs. Biologically speaking co-sleeping makes more sense than 'sleep training' does it not?? * Note Co sleeping can be unsafe if anyone in bed with the infant is under the influance of drugs or alcohol and/or sleeping in a waterbed.
