In the daycare backyard we keep seeing aeroplanes, so today my plan was to make some binoculars and we were gonna decorate them with paint.... As we were playing with the binoculars outside and watching aeroplanes, the kids came up with an idea that they wanted to use the binoculars at the Nature playground. So after lunch we headed out to the playground. Our play environment are play based learning with a large range of quality open-ended resources and loose parts. We practice sustainability and we are heading forward plastic-free learning resources.... Dramatic play and quiet corner are very popular play space. Our small world play space with the magic tree house is where I set up different theme for our learning experience. @joguines_grapat and mandala range recourses very well loved by the children. As well as the @grimmswoodentoys rainbow, tree people and gems from @letthemplay_toys and @waytoplaytoys roads. Our backyard natural play space has 5 essential elements: 1. Recycled materials 2. Water 3. Sand, rocks, pebbles, natural materials 4. Plants, veggies and herbs 5. 15.01.2022 A teacher gave me this today! Visual aids for learning is so important for children. I also learn through visions and pictures and I know how much it would helps for children to understand the concepts of routines, increase retention of information and learning. It also help children with English second language, behaviour guidance and also help them to know what's coming next. We've always have routine for daycare but I think this will be great resource to have as an extended tool to help children engaged and provide interest and motivation for them.

13.01.2022 http://New classroom set up// Daycare is currently close for 2 weeks. It is the time where I purposely took off to spend with my family, reflect on what happened in the past year, reset my frame of mind and recharge for the new school year with a solid plan. This year I have decided to go a lot simpler in all areas of my life. Decluttering is my new adopted habit late last year. I come to realised that my brain goes into overdrive mode when Im faces with too many choices. There...fore I have decided to do the same with the classroom as I want to implement the same concept for the children - "Less is more" This year we will be focusing a lot more about emotional and mental development. We will have more time exploring nature, out and about, continue with our reuse, recycle, reduce campaign. One excited thing about the classroom is that we have 90% plastic-free resources and I will be regularly rotating our wooden resources around to change up our environment. Cant wait to see how the children will respond to this new set up and very excited to get to know some of my new children who have just enrolled and coming back for the school year . Another note, Im very excited to be ring in the new year with a sense of calm and preparedness in order to tackle some new goals and big dreams for this year. For anyone that missed my previous post, this year I am going towards minimalist in all areas of my life. Decluttering has always been my to-go list however I have never felt the freedom of clearing the old and make more room for the new (or making room for the imagination run wild) this year.
