15.01.2022 Congratulations to Karl and Dana who took the jump and did it! Following your dreams in the time of Covid is a whole lot harder but here they are, proud new owners of the Fountaine Pajot Venezia 42. The boat is waiting for them in Tahiti until they can get organised to pack up and start their new life as a live aboard family.... It’s gutsy to purchase a boat sight-unseen, yet it is almost the ´new normal’ since March 2020. With hundreds of hours of chatting, video calls, emailing back and forth and exploring solutions to build bridges and find answers to logistical issues and organising experts, quotes, repairs, insurance, ect with a team involving half a dozen people in 4 different countries it did take some nerves. The result is worth it though, and an inspiration to us all. Welcome to the cruising world guys! 07.01.2022 The mighty little ship ‘Anastasia’ is now named ‘Kolea’. She has just been kissed goodbye by her owners of 20 years, who with a heavy heart will now regroup in Europe and plan their next adventures. Her new owner is impatiently waiting to be able to come and join her. He hasn’t even seen her ‘in the flesh’ yet, although countless hours were spent on video calls, looking in every corners, asking a million questions, communicating, communicating, communicating....and building ...an enduring friendship in the process. Covid or not, dreams demand to be followed... (with a little help from everyone). An awesome team work for all involved and an inspiration all along the way. Darn it! The Covid years are exhausting! There are so many logistical tangles to unravel, bridges to build, trust to earn, promises to keep. When people say ‘can I trust you?’, how does it make you feel? Good isn’t it? SO good! (Especially in a world where saying you are a yacht broker will usually mean people will look at you with a wary eye. Sad to say). The past 25 months have been incredibly rewarding. The challenges presented to us all through this pandemic turning the world upside down has showed us and taught us so much. Mostly, we will remember it as being laid bare, as a buyer, broker, seller, and having to work on a closely human, trust-based level. This, was our silver lining.
