22.01.2022 Today is World Mental Health Day. This is great advice. Perfectionism is the enemy of flourishing. Do what you can, when you can and celebrate that!

20.01.2022 It was #Diwali on the weekend and I had the pleasure of making my first #rangoli or #kolam with my friend Kavitha. Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. This year it seems particularly timely! The rangoli is a sign of welcome all into the home and making one was a mindful experience that also created a sense of deeper connection to my friend and her community and culture. What would you like to invite into your h...ome and life over the next 12 months? Are there connections you'd like to initiate or deepen? Do you know how to do that? Working with a therapist can help you to identify what a rich, full and meaningful life looks like to you, and what is getting in the way of you experiencing that. 20.01.2022 Today’s update: Back in the water with fresh antifouling thanks to a little help from my friends. Hopefully we’ll be fast like an orca. It pays to ask for help. If you struggle to ask for help, or at the other end of the spectrum, are overly reliant on others, therapy can help to find a healthy middle ground. Drop us a line of you would like to talk to someone who gets it. #therapistsofinstagram #dbttherapist #woodenboat #dragonclass #shesails

16.01.2022 Amen. It's a whole of life issue.

11.01.2022 It’s more than OK to ask for help it’s great! Last week I was working with a client on how we can sometimes take extreme positions in life that don’t serve us. When we got to extreme dependence vs extreme independence, I suddenly recognised myself. I have been missing out on something really important to me because I had a story that to ask for help was to be weak and shameful. So I practised what I preach and did some Opposite Action, put a post up on Facebook asking for h...elp and much to my surprise I ended up with six people helping me on Sunday to do the very messy job of cleaning the bottom of my boat and getting it ready for a fresh coat of antifouling. The unexpected bonus was that people volunteered who I wouldn’t have thought to ask. It gave me a chance to get to know them a little better and introduce some great people to each other and the sport I love. #dbt #dbtskills #dbttherapy #dbttherapist #therapistsofinstagram #oppositeaction #sailinglife #woodenboat #dragonclass #itsokaynottobeokay #askforhelp #SheSails See more
