23.01.2022 Water is essential to life. The provision of water taps in public spaces means that children’s water bottles can be filled, the dog can have a drink, and during exercise, we can refresh ourselves. This seemingly small convenience goes a long way in many areas. As well as providing the opportunity to rehydrate, the provision of taps is essential for the environment. Australians buy over 100,000 tonnes of plastic water bottles each year. Using refillable bottles avoids the plas...tic waste that is filling our oceans and landfills. But more than that, each litre of bottled water takes over three litres of water to produce. This can’t happen when water is such a precious resource. That’s why I’m advocating for public taps and bottle refilling stations across our parks, playgrounds and shopping areas. But, I can’t implement these common-sense policies without your vote. 15.01.2022 As I am sure some of you have noticed, I am passionate about our communal spaces. Whether they be parks, playgrounds, sport or recreation facilities; I believe all such communal spaces make our city stronger. Sporting facilities are particularly important as they encourage community cohesion, healthy lifestyles and an enjoyment of the outdoors. That is why I would like to simplify the process in which sporting grounds can be booked. If I am elected, I will advocate for the creation of a standard online form for all sporting grounds. Any party interested in hiring a sporting ground will be able to the Wyndham City Council website, fill out the form and receive a prompt response about their reservation.
04.01.2022 Public Restrooms are a vital amenity because everyone will need them at some point in time. That’s why we need to improve and increase our existing public restrooms available. Public Restrooms need to be well placed, comfortable, and clean. As well as increase safety and security in these locations. To improve our public restroom services, if elected as your member, I will advocate for greater availability of public restrooms with a focus on higher design standards in comfort, safety, and security, as well as maintaining regular inspection and cleaning of facilities. I want our community to have the best services available. Nobody should have to rush, feel uncomfortable, or find the place a filthy mess, and that’s why I’m advocating for the improvement and increase of Public Restrooms. Vote for empowerment.
