25.01.2022 We at the Club are concerned about the Coronavirus, and recognise your concerns in the many messages we have received so we would like to clarify what is happen...ing on the 29th March. Our members have met about this issue and have decided to open on the 29th March. However, we may be required to close if the Government or the Council ban meetings of more than a 100 people. If there are any further developments then we will give an announcement on this, and our other Facebook pages and also on our website at ndmes.org.au. See more

25.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what its like to drive a steam locomotive? Well, here is our youngest member, Mark, aged 16, skillfully driving a 7.1/4 inch Black 5 around the track, all while filming the experience. Howzat?

25.01.2022 Well our 28th March event was the best post Covid event yet, with a near total sell out for both sessions. Thank you to all those that came and made it a brilliant day for us all. Also thank you to all the volunteer drivers and staff who gave their time freely. Our next event is a mid week school holiday run, but buy your tickets soon, as there is only one longer than usual session, only 150 tickets available, so they will go fast. 23.01.2022 We at Northern Districts Model Engineering Society are deeply saddened to hear the news of Councillor Andrew Guilfoyles sudden passing. Andrew was a dedicated and caring man who showed particular interests in community groups in the Stirling area and beyond. We ourselves have had the good experience of his advice and company over the years. A great man. A sad loss for the Stirling Community and our deepest condolences to his wife and family. 21.01.2022 Our events are changing in May! For the first time in about 12 years, we are having to raise our ticket prices. We do apologise, but this is due to the financia...l impact of covid on our running costs. Details of these price changes are listed below. We are also going to run one session per event, which will be an hour longer than before, from 9.45 until 1.30pm, so you will have more time for rides and a family picnic. This will also help us to keep the steam trains all steamed up for the rides, as they are fussy little locos and didn't like the break between the two sessions we previously ran. 16.01.2022 The Ring of Fire". Its not steam, but an example of the four stroke engines that Stu Martyn has built over the years. NDMES is supposed to be an Engineering Society, but the trend these days, seems to be towards steam locos. Stu has been building small models now for almost 20 years and has videoed most of his working models. His first models were steam, until he discovered the attraction of building four stroke engines. He says that nothing beats the feeling, of seeing lumps of metal put together, and then to see the item burst into life when fired up for the first time!
