25.01.2022 Good morning again everyone. I haven''t posted anything for a few weeks, but there wasn''t any news. However, Covid -19 has claimed another victim. It is with deep regret that we advise that The Neate Swim School will cease trading as at 30th June, 2020. This decision has not been made in haste & one we have given a lot of thought to, as we are concerned we are letting down our loyal customers & valuable staff. We have taken the following matters into consideration in maki...ng this decision:- 1. The difficulties in conducting a Swim School in the current climate, with the mandatory implementation & maintenance of a Covid-19 Safety Plan, requiring limited numbers in the facility to maintain social distance, the need to thoroughly sanitise the facility at regular intervals, ensuring non-contact activities as much as practical, minimising sharing of equipment, keeping records of all visitors to the Swim School etc. 2. As we are both in our 70's , we have decided that the restrictions we will be required to adhere to will be a challenge we are not prepared to face at our stage of life. Also as we no longer live on site, we feel that now is the appropriate time to retire. 3. The situation with the new owners of 15 Dewhirst Street has changed & they have decided to take up residence at the property instead of leasing the residence & Swim School to someone else. Whilst they are prepared for us to re-open the business on a short-term basis, they have advised us that they do not wish to have someone else Pconducting the Swim School long term. We respect their decision, as they have escaped Sydney for the peace & quiet of Goulburn. We would also have concerns about someone testing positive to Covid coming onto a property we do not own. 4. We feel it may not be financially viable to conduct the Swim School with the restrictions we would be required to meet. The Neate Swim School has provided a valuable service to the Goulburn & District community for nearly 24 years & during that time thousands of children & adults have been taught vital life saving skills. We know the closure of The Neate Swim School will affect a lot of people & we hope you are understanding of our situation. It is not simply a matter of re-opening the doors - the new normal will be a lot different to ways things were conducted in the past. We wish all our customers, staff & families all the best for the future - we will miss you all & thank you for your support & patronage over many years. Jenny & Ron Neate

24.01.2022 Hello again everyone. This will be my last post from The Neate Swim School as we have permanently closed due to Covid-19. We would like to personally thank everyone for their patronage over the last 24 years and hope you can all keep swimming when the opportunity arises.... For the squad kids, Ally is setting her own squad coaching up when the Aquatic Centre opens in September/October. Her Facebook page is called Ally's Aqua Academy (AAA). She can be contacted through this page for coaching details. If anyone is interested in this & you have a credit with us, please contact me on 0427932891 (this is now the only number) & we can arrange credit to Ally. We also still have some stock (flippers, goggles, caps) if anyone needs them. Ron & I wish everyone one of our customers all the best for the future & hope you all stay well. Thanks once again, Jenny & Ron

21.01.2022 Good morning again everyone. We may be a little closer to opening, but who knows when! We are waiting for an indication from the Swimming bodies & government and the "green light" so we can get back into action. There will be changes to meet the requirements of social distance and extra hygiene but that is OK. One of our swimming families are going through very hard times at the moment. There is a special fundraising event happening this Wednesday 6th May at North McDonal...ds where $2 from every big mac sold will go towards supporting this family. Please help this worthy cause. For more info on this see BIG MACS FOR RAUNJAKS facebook page. If anyone needs to contact us, please phone the swim school number (48212553) as the office is closed. Until next week, Stay safe & well. Jenny & Ron

10.01.2022 Good afternoon again all. We do hope you are all still coping with the anxiety of "staying home" and having the kids to entertain. There is not much news this week, except, WE will reopen the swim school when we are given the "green light". After speaking to our accountant this morning, we decided that we would continue the business then hand it over to someone else once it is up and running.... This means that all of you who were booked in for term 1 and intended to come for term 2 will be automatically booked in. Depending when we open, term 2 or term 3, the credits will continue over till then. If anyone wants to change anything, please contact me & we can sort it out. If any parent wants to book their child/children in for "whenever we start back" please contact me on 48212553. This is something none of us has ever experienced, so who knows what will happen. We just have to stay positive & we will get through it. Until next week, Jenny & Ron

05.01.2022 Good morning all. We trust everyone is coping well with the restrictions placed upon us in this trying time. We would like to inform everyone we are ready to re-open as soon as we are advised that we can again conduct swimming lessons. We assume there will be certain conditions placed on the way we operate, including maintaining social distance, limiting the numbers of people in the pool shed at the same time & also strict cleaning procedures.... We presume most of our students will be returning, but we may have to vary times to comply with the restrictions. As soon as we know an opening date, we will contact people to reorganise times, days etc. In some cases these may not have to be changed, but we are expecting that limits on numbers in lessons will apply. We will keep you all updated through this post of any developments. Until next week, stay safe Jenny & Ron
