23.01.2022 Last nest of the season. Dad is keeping an eye on his three youngsters that are just out of the nest. It has been a bit of a marathon this past season, favourable conditions, and the birds have bred like flys.

21.01.2022 I’m starting to check through a few of the youngsters. It is interesting how much they change and how much they grow. My line of birds take a while, so I’m never in too much of a hurry. Here’s a few greens, one has a fair bit of flecking, which in most cases in my birds when it turns up it moults out. I won’t be to hasty to part with him as he has great style and feather texture.

20.01.2022 A few nice youngsters coming along. The bottom right photo is by far the youngest, I think he may turn out to be the one to watch.

20.01.2022 Best wishes to all birdkeepers. As the New Years rolls in we can say goodbye to 2020. Many would be saying good riddens to 2020. The past year has been a wild ride with 2020 giving us many unwelcomed surprises, lets hope 2021 is a little easier on us all. Stay positive and let your birds bring you some joy in this new year. Kindest regards Rob Manvell

18.01.2022 40 years of continuous breeding. This is a milestone, however there are many other achievements along the way.

15.01.2022 Nice to sort through some youngsters and find babies like these.

11.01.2022 What a difference a year makes, this time last year it was the driest I can ever remember it. Our Lake was completely dry, now it is full to the top. It sure makes Christmas a little happier knowing most of the farmers in our region have managed to get a crop off this year. I hope you have had a cheerful and special Christmas and I wish you all the best for 2021. May it be less stressful than 2020.

10.01.2022 Cutting rings off, pisses me off. Another nice young hen, swollen foot and leg. I hope I caught it in time. I don’t believe the rings are big enough for the birds we breed these days.

10.01.2022 A pressure washer can be your very best friend.

05.01.2022 Some thoughts on the budgie game.

05.01.2022 A loverly feathered bird from the Manvell budgie stud

04.01.2022 These Cocks have produced some wonderful youngsters this past season. I look forward to using them again and many of their youngsters in this years breeding team. The whole flock has been prepared and are ready to go as soon as they reach peak breeding condition. I don't think that condition is far way now.
