22.01.2022 There’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel for the next generation of construction workers, with the Victorian Tunnelling Centre at Holmesglen Institute now complete. The facility will train workers to work on major tunnelling projects like North East Link, Metro Tunnel and West Gate Tunnel Project. To provide our trainees a ‘real life experience’, life-sized replicas of the mined tunnel and Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) have been created as part of the training centre.... Modelled on London’s Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy (TUCA), the facility includes two multi-purpose engineering and technical workshops, virtual reality learning programs, construction related simulators, a materials laboratory, and a learning resource centre. We’re fast-tracking the new Bulleen Park & Ride and delivering it four years sooner, to be open by late 2022. An Urban Design and Landscape Plan (UDLP) for the proposed Bulleen Park & Ride is now on exhibition for public comment.... The proposed design includes a green roof park, with landscaped open space and bike and walking paths connecting into the Koonung Creek Trail. 10.01.2022 Next week works will start to relocate two transmission towers, from Watsonia Station car park to Frensham Reserve, Watsonia to help make way for North East Link. A worksite will be established in Frensham Reserve, which will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists during the works, with detours in place. 05.01.2022 Three mini tunnel boring machines (TBMs) will be used to build a new 1.8 km sewer 20 metres under Bulleen Road. These works are part of an early works program to move 100 services to make way for major construction later in 2021.

We will contribute $21 million towards a new tennis facility in Glen Waverley, ensuring tournament tennis can continue as we build the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network. The new precinct will include up to 18 new courts, a multi-sport pavilion, practice facilities and upgrades to the car park and pedestrian paths. ... The centre will replace the existing tennis centre in Boroondara, which is located on land needed for a crucial interchange to connect the North East Link to the Eastern Freeway.
