25.01.2022 It is with regret that I have to inform everyone that Nels Horse Riding School must close as at 12pm today in accordance with Government Corona Virus mandated closure of sports and recreation businesses. At this stage I do not know how long the business will be closed for. I will be looking into other ways to enable most of you to be able to continue your horsey experience here at the school. I will have more information for you as soon as I can get my own head around the closure of the school that is so dear to all of our hearts.

Nel’s Horse Riding School is offering a 5 week course of 2 1/2 hour sessions held once a week for 5 weeks on a Wednesday or a Thursday morning between the hours 8:30am and 11:00am. In this session the students will learn a variety of skills through ridden and ground activities such as... ... * catching, leading, grooming and tacking horses * lunging, ground training, trick training * horse medical care, horse dietary needs, * understanding horse behaviour * therapeutic horse care * horse riding skills in a number of riding disciplines and much much more. The session will be broken up in the following way... 45mins horse Husbandry training 1 hour horse riding lesson (4 riders in a group) 45mins horsemanship training 8 positions available on Wednesday and Thursday. Cost : $200.00 per person per 5 week course. Age limit : 8 years to 18 years old. 07.01.2022 Hello All Yesterday Mum phoned Qld Health and got put through to the Covid-19 specialist team. They advised that we shut down as a non-essential service. Over the past few weeks many students have been dropping out of lessons. This drop in numbers means it becomes impossible to afford proper care and nutrition for the horses. With the situation set to get worse, it makes sense to enforce temporary closure of the Riding School-the horses get a bit of a holiday and the Riding S...chool avoids financial disaster. Avoiding financial disaster will ensure the school can re-open at the appropriate time. It also makes sense with regards to social isolation advice. The closure is temporary and it is a partial closure. I am still looking at providing horsey experiences on a scaled down version. Times are tough and horses do provide us with enjoyment and relaxation. I welcome suggestions and expressions of interest as to how the horsey experiences will continue for you. See more
