24.01.2022 The two most important men in my life, my Padre and my husband . . Yesterday I got to spend the day with them. My padre, whom has always being my hero, at 60yrs old he was still competing and winning INBA Masters Bodybuilding divisions, surfing on his weekends and charging life like he was invincible. The past 18months have not being so great, through heart bypass and spinal surgery resulting in compartments syndrome, 7 operations in the space of 2 weeks and 2 months in Ho...spital, that was all just in the first part of the last 18 months.... Then only 4 weeks ago being rushed in for more heart surgery to have a defibrillator put in to keep his heart beating and in a healthier rhythm after his recent cardiovascular tests came back that his heart was working at 25% by the time his surgery day came. . . This Christmas was so much more than just food or presents, it was sharing it with him, sharing it with my husband the two most supportive and motivating men in my life, that’s what made this year so special! . . I am so grateful for my familia, for their love and compassion, lucky that we are close, lucky that we laugh and tease each other, that we make inappropriate jokes at all the wrong times and that we are the most awkward bunch of humans you can ever lump together. . . 23.01.2022 My beautiful friend and bikini sponsor/creative genius @fit_angel_bikini ordered this photo of me, for me . . This incredible girl has hand made every single one of my @wbff_official bikinis, from my first show and Pro status win, to my pro debut in Las Vegas last year, to my most recent return to the Australian stage in the @wbff_aust PRO/AM this past October. Every single time, she has delivered something even more beautiful and unique then I could have imagined. I love... this bikini so much, the colour, the hand made, sheer jewelled sleeve which she fitted to me the day before the show to make sure everything was perfect. . . I will never be able to thank her enough for her endless support. Doing all of this whilst also juggling a massive work load and new beautiful baby boy! Thank you for just being you! 21.01.2022 We fight, we bicker and we disagree, we aren’t perfect and we don’t always have the same opinion or approach. . . But what we do have is each other, someone that stands by your side always. This life, this industry, this sport, none of it is easy, but easy isn’t what makes us work, overcoming the challenges we face, does! .... . I have being through so much with my incredible husband, the amazing moments and the turbulent ones, but I know without him I wouldnt be where I am today. He builds me up, he tells me what I need to hear and also what I don’t want to, one thing I am always certain of and can always count on is him! He believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself. We have learnt so much from each other and grown so much together. We may not be everyone’s cup of tea but who wants tea when you can be each other’s cup of coffee! . . Thank you for being you, in all the craziness and preps, all the work and endless weeks where days roll into one. 18.01.2022 What’s the difference here?? 24hrs some extra good foods and a new HDXMN outfit!! . . The first photo was Sunday morning, the second photo was the very next morning (Monday) after a tracked high calorie day and coming into 4 weeks post @wbff_aust. .... . Is my energy expenditure as high as it was in prep? NO! Is it consistent with my calorie intake though...YES! Reverse dieting isn’t about staying lean for as long as possible post show, it’s about gradually rebuilding your calories back up to a maintenance level first whilst slowly tapering down on your steps or higher levels of cardio if applied or for some it may be a slight decrease or change in your training. . . For me, I aim to gradually build my calories up over 6 to sometimes 8 weeks post show with small weekly increases in my carbs and fats, working towards a calorie maintenance level where I will sit for another few weeks to allow my body time to adapt and adjust before taking it into a surplus for a set amount of time. This is not a get fat to grow stage that is something that over the years has become wildly exaggerated as an excuse for people to essentially consume exceedingly high amounts of calories in the belief that more weight means more muscle...it doesn’t! But that’s a post for another day... . . Reverse dieting is hard, because your goals or your mindsets are different, but ultimately your health both physical and mental should always be the number 1 priority. So why would you not want to take the time to ensure you are looking after both. Less fluctuations of high sugars and fats means better stability in your moods, for women it can help ensure a better hormonal balance is being kept or even restored which in turn aids in a better relationship with food, because we aren’t eating to make us happy" . I allow myself a tracked high day once per week, which isn’t just a free for all binge. Instead I work out foods I may like to incorporate IF I feel like it and try to utilise more good whole food sources instead of just empty calories. I do have foods that can’t always be perfectly tracked but I don’t destroy my head over it, instead I enjoy and plan my day for or around it! @teamsacrifice See more

18.01.2022 The real, raw me! No filters, no make up, straight after my morning face cleansing routine...swipe right to see why I am posting this... . My skin is not perfect, far from it, and up until my mid to late 20s I had never really struggled with anything more than the very rare and sporadic one pimple breakout. . But at 27/28yr all hell broke lose, my breakouts became unrelenting and painful, suddenly I found myself suffering from full blown stress and hormonal acne. ... . For years I tried every topical treatment under the sun, some would give temporary relief, others none at all. I used acne medications and antibiotics which would work short term but the effects they were having on areas of my body mentally and physically were outweighing any good they were having on my skin. Breakouts did minimised but my gut and hormonal health was suffering. . 16.01.2022 Not too disappointed for pulling up like this after our triple family Christmas bonanza! . . Coming into the new year everyone is in the panic state after Christmas, stuck in the loop of wanting to look good for the New Year’s Eve celebrations so you can essentially feel worse on New Year’s Day .... . The brutal truth is that there are no secret tricks or tips to surging the festive period...and if I’m being honest it’s not something I overly concern myself with or obsess over, because it doesn’t have to be complicated or confusing. It’s really only 3 simple things... . . 1DONT eat for the sake of eating. . 2Control what you put in your mouth by not restricting what you eat but instead managing your portion sizes of what you eat and enjoying the variety of foods or even a drink or two if you want to. . 3Probably the most vital rule and simplest....... DONT EAT OR DRINK LIKE AN ARSEHOLE! You don’t act like one in day to day life so why treat your body like one over the course of the festive season . . To some that may sound harsh, and people will be looking at this statement over thinking it and all the variables that can occur at this stage of year. But to me, that’s it really in a nutshell . . You are accountable for what you do and do not do, we are always faced with struggles but over indulging to the point where you have to restrict what you eat afterwards to feel better is not balance, it’s negative eating and enables poor habits to continue to be formed long after the celebrations are done . . Instead look at all of the food for what it is...food! There is no need to binge and restrict, you don’t have to eat the whole cake, pudding or Ham to feel like you’ve had a good festive season, before you start the New Year as the New You . . Forming positive habits and relationships doesn’t start with just one day, and it cannot be undone in just one day either. Create a life you can enjoy in a body that you are proud of working on. . . . 10.01.2022 Currently sitting here...Could be better, could be worse... . . Every year I compete brings something different, I learn something new about my body, about my mindset, about what I truly want and the work I really need to do. Every year, every growth season, every prep, whilst all are calculated, they are all completely unpredictable at stages too. .... . But what keeps me going is staying consistent within the unpredictable, controlling what I can, learning from what I can’t and evolving in my approach. . . I am not even close to where I want to eventually be, but I am as committed to the journey long after the stage lights have dimmed. . . My key to life now after show is my just that, MY LIFE! Prep is not my lifestyle, it physically can not be, if it were I would end up unhealthy, unhappy, I would lose my business and my relationships. Prep is the small extreme moment that comes from a big goal, but it is not all that your life should contain or all that you need to work for. . . Finding balance is never easy, it takes time, it takes finding the right approach for you, your job, your actual lifestyle...it does not happen by letting all the wheels fall off and jumping from one form of dieting straight into another, often both in their extremes. Learn your bodies needs, and I mean actual needs and apply those. Everyone of us is different and despite what social media may want to portray being different is our greatest asset. . . So stay consistent, train and eat with knowledge instead of with extremes. And stop letting a season or a prep define who you are. 06.01.2022 Not just a throw back to an amazing day with this incredible real life #supergirl @tahnee.sheehan But also a little bit of transformation or more so reflection from my recent and second @wbff_official pro show, 5 weeks ago to my first pro show just over one year ago in Las Vegas at the WBFF Worlds! . . There were so many variables hindering my condition and my prep last year, nothing was ideal and in all honesty I knew my body was not going to be at its best. I was facing so...me very big health battles at the time that I was putting aside. Why?! Because prep has a way of consuming you, even when you aren’t ready to stand on stage, you also aren’t ready to admit that you shouldn’t. Each show you take away a different experience. One I am still grateful for having. Not because of the outcome but because of the lessons I learnt and needed to learn. Plus 2 days after the show @logan_robson and I got to say I do in the middle of the Las Vegas desert at sunset! And not it was not unplanned or done by Elvis haha . . Fast forward to this most recent prep, done completely different in every way, with the first 6 months of the year dedicated to ensuring my body was healthy and 100% on track before locking myself into another prep. I gave myself time to grow, time to adjust to higher calories and sit in a calorie surplus, I changed my training, my whole approach, I took care of myself more and whilst yes I could have being leaner, dryer and even better still the changes from this show to last are night and day! . . Success isn’t always measured by how we place on the day but by the changes we have made leading up to that moment.
