Real Neon vs Fake Neon (LED) LED flex is cheap, used for exhibitions, short term displays or events or where portability is required however that comes at a cost. Many people are getting fooled into buying cheap toxic fake neon.... LED is extremely bad for the environment much more than Real Neon Its made using huge amounts of harmful chemicals and plastics. Its not biodegradable, does not breakdown and has a very short life span compared to Real Neon. Unlike neon, it's not made be serviceable or repairable it must be thrown away if it breaks is not recycled It is mounted using toxic adhesives to a backing panel made of acrylic or perspex, based on that alone LED FLEX is highly damaging to the environment. But LED uses less power than Real Neon!?!? NOPE!! Thats not true in fact real neon uses less power than a 12v LED flex to produce the same amount of light. REAL NEON is made with glass... silicone and sand.... Its requires less raw materials, requires no plastics at all. It requires less carbon to produce. Its made to be serviceable and recycled. Its pumped with non toxic gas found naturally in the environment. Neon, argon and helium and naturally occuring.
