25.01.2022 HIGHLIGHTS & GOALS Nerang Eagles V Burleigh Bulldogs Football Gold Coast Premier League | Sunday 2/8/2020. Players from both clubs wore black armbands and joined with spectators and officials to observe a minute's silence in rememberance and respect for Nerang Soccer Club former coach and mentor and Gold Coast football icon, the late Darrell Olive.

25.01.2022 Fantastic turnout yesterday at the club, a solid performance from both teams and a top shelf win over Burleigh for the First Grade team. A minute's silence and reflection was held for the late Darrell Olive ahead of the games with all players wearing black arm bands as a mark of respect. We're sure Darrell would have enjoyed the intensity and spectacle of some of the great football that went down, and of course the friendships and chatter about the club. Thanks everyone for coming down and paying your respects and supporting the club, the teams and football.

25.01.2022 GRAND FINALS START TOMORROW! Get down to the club tomorrow night to see some serious junior football at Nerang. Three of our junior teams have made their respective Grand Finals. Congrats to our U15 Girls and to our U18 JPL lads who are returning again this year to defend their Grand Final Titles, and to our U12 Div 1 Boys (pictured) who battled from 4th place in the Premiership standings to win their semis and book a spot in the big one on Saturday. Tomorrow night is a... blockbuster with both our U15 Girls and U18 JPL having their Grand Finals here at home at Nerang Soccer Club, and following up on Saturday our U12s have their final away at Robina. Massive congrats to our Premier League Firsts who came away 4-1 winners in the main game penalties tonight after a 3 all deadlock at full time, a massive win for the club and a long time coming. Congrats to Southport for taking the win in the Reserves, big thanks also to Surfers Paradise for an amazing challenge tonight, a great battle that will go down in the books for sure. Well done lads and well done to the coaches, support staff and fans who all came down. Enjoy the taste of silver

17.01.2022 A study was done by Griffith University on clubs around the Gold Coast. On average they tracked that most children only touch the ball 200-250 times a session. ...After requesting this study we decided to change this in our own way. At AFA, on average every player touches the ball 1000 times per session, at a high intensity with a purpose on developing the individual in a team environment. This number can increase to 2000 and even 3000 touches during technical sessions. With that statistic. AFA players train much more than even 4x the amount in one session that the average club player does each session. Times that by 3-4 sessions a week and you might as well look away... you're missing out? We are currently taking expressions of interest for u10s, 11s, 12s, u13s, u14s, u15s, u16s and u18s all in the highest divisions on the Gold Coast. 05.01.2022 Football returns to Nerang Soccer Club! Opening the pre-season matches for our Premier League Men's teams will be a top flight challenge against quality NPL QLD outfit Eastern Suburbs FC. The Tigers will no doubt be bringing an impressive squad of their own on the back of their strong 7th-place finish in Queensland's National Premier League in 2020, winning 4 of their last 5 games on the run home. Lee Vernon's refreshed Nerang Eagles squad will no doubt be equal to the chal...lenge with a string of high quality re-signings in recent weeks and an injury list that's now been all but cleared. Although there's no points on the line in these pre-season hit outs, we're expecting both clubs the be firing up and looking to start their 2021 with a positive first step and some wins in the bag. Saturday February 6th 2021 at Nerang games kick off at 4pm and run into the evening, a great chance to head down and support your Eagles, grab some cold drinks and tasty snacks from the clubhouse and see some great local football action up close and right here in Nerang.

04.01.2022 It is with much sadness that the club wishes to announce the passing of Life Member and long-time Nerang Eagles identity, Edith Anne Jackson. We are informed that Anne passed away in the early evening last night and we wish to pass on our sincerest and deepest sympathies and support to Leigh and the entire Jackson family and those who were close to Anne. Anne served the club enormously during the 1980s holding various committee roles and as a volunteer and contributed to the ...shaping of the club we have here today. Anne joined the executive committee in 1979 holding roles as Treasurer 1979/80/84/85/88/90 Junior Vice President 1983 Assistant Treasurer 1986/89 Finance Director 1987 Anne also founded the Nerang Players' Records an ongoing database keeping track of every single player and their years of service/games at the club before passing those records to current President Fred Stone in the late 1990s. She was made Nerang Soccer Club life member in 1991. Leigh Jackson joined the club in the late 1970s and served on the committee in various roles beside Anne over the years as well as being a formidable and accomplished player for the club for many years. The club would like to remember and celebrate Anne's great contributions to the Eagles, and the lifelong relationships and friendships she leaves behind in her passing. We will announce any funeral or memorial event details as they come to hand and in accordance with the family's wishes.

Players from both clubs will be wearing black arm bands and observing a moment's silence in memory of the late Darrell Olive.
