25.01.2022 Interesting articles for the gals with ASD. Executive functioning issues lead to overwhelming feelings of helplessness and a lack of motivation and task initiation.

24.01.2022 I love this. A comedic think tank about what defines intelligence and how current systems may be thwarting its progression for children well into their future professional lives.

23.01.2022 There’s a lot of limit setting in mental health right now. Let’s advocate for mental health services that are available to all. A pivotal time when adolescent suicide rates are through the roof. If we can help then easy access should be commended at a national level.

22.01.2022 Growing up I was a boring, rote verbal based learner. I mainly saw details but had to repeat over and over again information that I could hold strongly in my short term memory but forever struggled to remember it for greater use. My rote learning and perseverance paid off in the end. Something that is hard to learn (but can be done) is visual based knowledge. A lot of the time this knowledge is genetically gifted and can be harnessed and enhanced in a society that forgets its merits. I agree with Temple. The visual learners hold the key to great change that can occur in such great minds. These people that dont fit the mould need to be acknowledged for a brighter future to be had.

22.01.2022 Sounds great! Xxx

22.01.2022 Be kind to Psychologists at the moment, especially in rural areas where professionals are sparse and we are all trying to meet a plethora of demand. Most of us are pretty good humans and we are trying our best, often without much acknowledgement.

21.01.2022 There are big changes for psychology at the moment that will have a massive impact on access to services for people already scrambling to access mental health workers in general. We need to fight for specialist Psychologists that are highly trained and highly qualified to deliver quality services tailored towards individualistic needs.

21.01.2022 This is true therapy. At home, on the streets or even as a psychologist. This is what creates meaningful change. So simple yet so hard sometimes when you realise you’re just living the daily grind. Start off small and you can make change

21.01.2022 The stigma of ADHD..... with correct diagnosis and careful consideration of treatment outcomes .... it can change childrens lives

21.01.2022 The brain is truly amazing ....

21.01.2022 For those struggling to access counselling and mediation services during these tough times.... I highly recommend Elle Slater who has spent many years in the industry, is easy to talk to and has a wealth of experience. Check out her website for more information

20.01.2022 Its way too hard to navigate the medical system let alone for people to sift through the quagmire of professionals and ask the right to be heard. Socratic oath should protect them from that. So should a system that enables fair access for all children to be given the opportunity to be understood. Even if that means we must bare some cost for the next generation moving forward.

20.01.2022 For brain enthusiasts

19.01.2022 For those people trying to educate demand avoiders.... I personally have the biggest one I know! I hope this helps!

19.01.2022 Systems are in place to protect children from physical harm. But the legal and public systems fail to protect children from cumulative emotional harm from a care giver. Its up to adults in the community that suspect emotional abuse to unravel the layers and not settle for a fairy tale story ..... have a scratch!

19.01.2022 Keep an eye on the littlies that struggle every day with social masking then go home and drop their emotional tsunami on their family

18.01.2022 During these difficult times it may be the chance to catch up on free mindfulness online! Helps develop those frontal neural connections and regulate difficult emotions!

18.01.2022 Professionals need to stay educated. These little little ones are very clever! They can almost never be perceived at face value.

18.01.2022 Kids you can be successful with a brain thats wired differently!!!!

18.01.2022 Interesting..... ADHD goes so easily undetected

17.01.2022 The difficulties parents face in diagnosis is the social stigma related to the dichotomy of good vs bad. It’s the goal of professionals to bridge this gap to create an understanding that there is nothing wrong with difference. Once we embrace difference as a society then we can accept and make great change.

17.01.2022 Wow... this is new news.... our bodies are pretty amazing

16.01.2022 Important evidence that any form of abuse never remains completely silent. Psychopathology has a damaging affect on important brain structures. Scientists can now detect brain changes as a result of genetics and PTSD as well as mood and personality related disorders.

16.01.2022 What shame does to the brain

16.01.2022 Love this..... how about if your not autistic and can relate

15.01.2022 Executive functioning issues are not easily detected. Usually fobbed off as some form of bad behaviour.... education is key

15.01.2022 Symptoms of concussion often get ignored. If you are anyone you know experiences concussion, heres what you can do

15.01.2022 Something I highlight to kids on a daily basis. Ive been a failure or loser so many times..... still am! In fact I embrace it. If we cant acknowledge failure we cant move forward to create change. If its not acknowledged you become stuck. The definition of intelligence is adaptability. Id rather be the biggest loser moving forward than a person who is stuck trying to master the elusiveness of perfection.

14.01.2022 We often forget the power of relationships and human connection

14.01.2022 Hi all, Sorry for hounding you all with posts on social media but are you all able to share our upcoming fundraising event at Glen Pub on Saturday 23rd November 2019 at 11.30am to 11pm! It will be a huge day, please all try and come : )

14.01.2022 I hope all the kids I see, and every kid for that matter, realise they have a special and unique talent that is meaningful and can make a small difference..... even a big one!

14.01.2022 Such a profound study for Psychology which is really shocking in this day and age..... obviously this would never be allowed now..... but a true testament to the power of authority of true human experience and how easily it can dissolve human empathy.... I think this study is a crucial reminder to humanity, at the crux of existentialism, how important it is to remain truly authentic ... if you are truly authentic .... you can be truly empathic ...

14.01.2022 Love this... explains ASD really well...

14.01.2022 Pretty amazing... lets continue to develop those neural connections

13.01.2022 Go Gracie Delazzer thanks to everyone who made her operation a success story!

11.01.2022 With the dearth of services in the valley right now its important to know anyone can refer themselves to Kara Di Dio or any other speechie!

11.01.2022 Check out ready steady go for the littlies to enhance fine and gross motor development and social and emotional reciprocation. Great program

11.01.2022 Quantum Support Services are in need of new sheets, towels, blankets, bedding and games for older children to go into their local refuge for women and children. If you can help out, contact Paul on 0403124528 and we can arrange drop off/collection.

10.01.2022 I need to take a leaf out of this book! I hope you are all enjoying some down time and self care time in lock down xxx

09.01.2022 I love this. There is a lot of hierarchical controversy and one upping in Psychology at the moment. A degree is not what makes a good therapist!

09.01.2022 Lets focus on ourselves and what we can control!

05.01.2022 So easy. I see some beautiful adults trying to implement this approach every day. Makes all the difference.

05.01.2022 Some subtle indicators of ADHD - especially for inattentive ones

04.01.2022 Yes!!!! This is needed!!!!

03.01.2022 Am enjoying love on the spectrum on ABC. Worth a watch. Everyone deserves

03.01.2022 We need more bold fighters that can save or help people in need. This always provokes controversy. It challenges statistics ... but statistics are also based on what is likely rather than confirmed diagnosis. Sometimes professionals dont truly understand every possibility or diagnoses because they are trained to think within a certain dichotomy or paradigm. They dont always need to have an answer. The most important thing I have learned is to ALWAYS have an open mind and not treat people like a probability or a likely stat. Everyone has a different story! We need to listen to that with the background of knowledge that most professionals have obtained. Its important not to let the rigidity of education get in the way of human experience.

01.01.2022 Oliver Sacks was an inspiration of mine that lead me to the curiosity of neuroscience. An intellectual that explored beyond... and broke barriers in order to understand his own truth to help people dealing with complex neurological issues beyond the norm. For anyone interested that are truly seeking answers or feel they need to push further....

01.01.2022 This deserves a re-share. What a great inspiring story.....

01.01.2022 I never really considered the unpredictability regarding sensory issues. Makes sense.
