19.01.2022 Dear Newcastle Suzuki families, We have decided to move all individual lessons online from ,Thursday March 19th .This will apply for the final 3 weeks of term and potentially some of Term 2, depending on how the coronavirus COVID-19 situation evolves. The process will be as follows.... Your lesson time Please double check that it works for you to be at home at your usual lesson time, and communicate with your teacher if your usual lesson time doesnt work for any reason. For those students at Hamilton South Public and St Pius lessons and string groups are cancelled families will be in credit for these last few weeks, if you already have paid term fees. If your child isnt at school through the day lessons can be arranged. Contact Nicole to arrange lessons. Lessons for this Term still finish on Wednesday 8th March. Preparing for your lesson Your teacher will contact you soon, letting you know their preferred platform. If your device is not compatible with your teachers preferred platform, please suggest an alternative platform which does work for you. You might need to exchange usernames, etc, depending on the chosen platform. A larger device like a laptop or tablet is preferable to a phone. Choose a quiet space away from distractions, yet with adequate parental supervision. Younger students will need their parent to sit with them, and older students will need a parent close at hand in case of technical difficulties. Your lesson Please have your instrument ready, and also any books or other materials you might need. At the designated lesson time, call your teacher via the agreed platform. If the connection fails, the teacher will wait for you to call back. If there are continued connection issues with the video format, please call the teachers mobile number and complete the lesson via regular phone call on speaker phone. Group lessons Confirming there will be no group lessons. We wish to thank all families for your understanding. These events are unprecedented, and the situation is ever-changing, somewhat confusing and very unpredictable. However, we are hoping some good will come from this situation.
