24.01.2022 We are overwhelmed by all the love for our Aqua Aerobics classes since they kicked off in February. So much so that the classes are booked! Due to COVID restrictions we unfortunately cannot have any extra numbers in each class, which means some of our patrons miss out. Our independent hydrotherapy and our aqua classes are limited to 10 people per class at this stage to allow for social distancing within our pool. We want to ensure that all of our clients have the opportunity ...to try out the Wednesday and Friday classes and to attend their preferred booking so if you have booked but are unable to attend please let us know as soon as you can so that we can arrange for anyone waiting to get in to fill the spot. If you do not attend without notifying staff, we will charge the non-attendance and you will be unable to re-book until this has been paid. We don’t mind if you give us late notice and are happy to reschedule if you need, but we are finding it tricky when people wanting to get into the pool continue to miss out. Due to demand we are hoping to set up another class so keep your eyes peeled soon for updates!

19.01.2022 Hydrotherapy Reminder Thank you to our patrons for following HNE Health's current safety guidelines regarding COVID-19. We understand that this is still a very difficult time for everyone. At this stage our hydrotherapy facility is accessible for one-on-one physiotherapy appointments and independent use by booking only. We have 45 minute allocated slots on the hour with a maximum of 10 people (including staff) in our pool at any one time. To ensure that all of our patrons ...have an opportunity to access our pool, we ask that you please make sure that you have booked an independent session for any follow-up use. Booking in one session does not guarantee that you have a permanent booking in this time slot. To avoid disappointment, please ensure that you have booked sessions in advance in the time slot you prefer. Thank you for your cooperation. From Charlie and team

19.01.2022 Hi all, As our clients that have attended today have been made aware, we will be continuing to screen for any patients that may have attended the following places advised by HNE Health and conducting temperature checks on entry. We ask that you please follow all HNE Health advice and self-isolate if you attended the venues in question and reschedule any upcoming appointments if you are feeling unwell. We would like to continue to encourage patrons to where a mask where the 1.5 m social distancing is not possible. Thank you to everyone who continues to follow all safety guidelines and hope you have a lovely week.

18.01.2022 Our beautiful receptionist Ali is shaving her head at the end of the week to raise funds for a close friend diagnosed with breast cancer. She is already so close to her goal! A link to her GoFundMe is below if you would like to help support Ali. "When one of my closest friends was diagnosed with breast cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic the shock was real. We were all already living with such a lot of uncertainty and a lack of control over our lives, this news felt next le...vel. The pandemic meant a lack of hugs, a lack of family for my friend and just so many things felt outside our control. I have decided to shave my head to raise some money for my beautiful friends' out of pocket medical expenses. Any donation large or small will be very much appreciated" https://www.gofundme.com/f/ali039s-shave

09.01.2022 Sharing this great break down of a recent study of shoulder scans! The main take away from this study is that pathology findings in scans may not always indicate that it is the cause of your pain or disability. Further assessment by a health professional is important to determine the cause of your pain and develop a treatment plan that is right for you. A big thanks to The Sports Physio for this infographic!

09.01.2022 Aqua Aerobics classes now added to our timetable! Our Aqua Aerobics classes are restarting Wednesdays and Fridays at 12PM. Our classes are 45 mins duration including warm up, strength and conditioning and cool down phase. The exercises are guided by one of our physiotherapists and can be modified to suit individual fitness level and ability. No equipment needed! Due to current number restrictions in our hydrotherapy pool, we ask that participants book ahead for each class by contacting our email or speaking to our friendly staff via our phone (02) 4955 0143. We hope to see you again soon!

07.01.2022 Following the recommendations made by NSW Health for all hospital and community settings, we encourage our patients and clients to wear a mask where possible if receiving treatment or care within 1.5 metres. We ask that you bring your own but we will have a small supply of disposable masks available should you require one. Our team will be using masks where the 1.5 metre distance is not possible during care in addition to standard precautions. We ask that you continue to maintain hand hygiene practices and continue physical distancing where possible in the pool. Thank you for your ongoing diligence with the current NSW Health guidelines and practices. From Charlie and team.

05.01.2022 Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy would like to thank our clients for supporting our team during this transition period as we continue to provide services under the current NSW COVID-19 guidelines. Our hydrotherapy facility has been made available for one-on-one physiotherapy sessions and independent use over the last few weeks and we would like to thank our clients for adhering to the current guidelines. To help make this transition period as safe as possible for our clients... and our staff, we advise that clients with an allotted time for independent use refrain from entering the building until your session time begins. This will allow clients finishing the previous session to be able to exit the area safely without interaction with the following participants. Please present to reception to confirm your attendance when your session time has commenced. At this stage our change rooms and group classes are not available until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience. We will continue to provide updates as our service changes in response to NSW guidelines changes. See more

05.01.2022 We are so pleased to see that our community’s efforts in social distancing and isolation have helped reduce the transmission of community acquired COVID-19. With the new easing of restrictions to be introduced tomorrow as part of Stage 1 in NSW, we have been reviewing our options and we are hopeful to re-open in some capacity when Stage 2 comes into effect and further restrictions ease in NSW. At this stage we are continuing to plan for the changes in restrictions and this m...ay look like reduced trading hours or shorter pool times with social distancing and strict hygiene in place. We will continue to keep you updated as these changes unfold. In the mean time, we are continuing to offer online consultations via video conferencing and telephone. We encourage all of our patrons to follow the Australian Government and NSW Government’s guidelines and download the COVID Safe App where possible and continue to follow social distancing measures. We hope to re-open soon in a safe, supportive environment for our community. Thank you to all of our clients for your support and patience during this time. We hope everyone stays safe and well and we look forward to seeing you soon.

04.01.2022 HYDROTHERAPY POOL UPDATE Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy is happy to announce that our hydrotherapy facility will reopen from Monday June 15th by appointment only. Patrons will be able to use the pool via one-on-one appointments with our physiotherapists and for independent use in limited numbers. Each independent session is a maximum of 45 minutes with a maximum of 8 pool-goers (including therapists). This will allow 15 minutes between each sessions for the previous patron...s to quickly shower and leave before the next session’s patrons arrive. Due to the potential high turnover and small space, our change rooms will not be available for use at this stage. We apologise for the inconvenience. Due to the limited numbers, patrons with a carer/s should consider booking with a physiotherapist or wait until the next stage of the pool’s reopening for pool numbers to increase. Our hydrotherapy availability for casual clients with a carer/s will be changed to accommodate our Physiotherapy clients. We will advise regarding these times during our next rollout. We ask that you call us on (02) 4955 0143 to book your session. Please understand that as part of each session, patients who book consultations with physiotherapists will be provided priority. Patrons who do not book an allotted session time will not be admitted. Thank you for respecting our staff and new facility hours as we move forward in this unprecedented time of change. Kind Regards, Charlie Finlay-Jones and Staff
