Before the buzz & festivities in the CBD kick off this summer we thought it would b...e a great time to pray for our city, our friends, and ourselves (& have a lamb roast!). If you come each week, every now and then, or are wanting to check our community out we'd love you to join us as we share a meal & pray for justice and renewal.

24.01.2022 Teaching vid for home churches this week. Scripture: John 2:13-22 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple c...ourts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market! His disciples remembered that it is written: Zeal for your house will consume me. The Jews then responded to him, What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this? Jesus answered them, Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days. They replied, It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days? But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. See more

18.01.2022 This afternoon we had our end of year celebration for families connected with Family Support Newcastle; it was a fun time with face painting, bubbles, disco, pa...ss the parcel, playing and socialising plus food and ice cream! A big thank you to the FSN staff who put in a great effort and to NewCity Baptist Church who generously supported and helped out at the event. 16.01.2022 Our community has started studying the text of Philippians together in a number of different ways in an effort to know deeper the spiritual truths in the text. ...If you haven’t already you can join us: We’ve done a community recording of this ancient letter which you can download and listen here: https://m.soundcloud.com/m/newcity-philippians-podcast-edit In its time this letter would have been read out aloud from start to finish in a community setting. There’s also a handful of memory verses to connect with. PM Nicholas if you would like some laminated memory cards. Memorising scripture is an ancient practice with the intent of bringing the sacred text into someones inner thoughts. 09.01.2022 Hi gang, It’s been great the past week connecting with people from our church family as we engage with the pressing issues of race and the mistreatment of other...s. Above is an interactive PDF file with a number of resources for us to connect with. My hope is that we can continue to listen and learn about this as we attempt to apply the way of Jesus. This is a deep and complex issue, so if needed please reach out to chat through this further, as we are all learning here. Tomorrow night we’ll be continuing our Philippians series and using uTube for the service component followed by a Zoom chat afterwards. 02.01.2022 Hi Church, In light of the changing restrictions in July we will be meeting in a ‘scatter & gather’ rhythm over the next 5 weeks. This will give opportunity fo...r those that want to meet safely in their homes together for worship, while also staying connected as a larger church family. This also allows those who are at risk, far away, or otherwise to still connect with us online. We’ll start this Friday with an all in Zoom service at 8pm (followed by an afterparty), and then the following week a YouTube service will be available for people to watch in their neighbourhood groups, or some other way. If your not connected to a neighbourhood group and would like to be, please let Nicholas or Mitch know. On the last Sunday of July we’re planning to gather together at a park in town pending weather & current restrictions (more details to come). On behalf of Nic, Mitch, & the leadership team, thank you for your flexibility, commitment and faithful presence during this crazy season.
