13.01.2022 NSW Police, together with Transport for NSW, are urging residents to plan ahead and to expect a different holiday experience during the summer months of 2020-2021, as they launch the Western phase of their summer-safety campaign. Operation Summer Safe is a high-visibility operation which commenced in Western Region yesterday (Sunday 1 November 2020), to increase community engagement with the public during summer months in regional NSW. Operation Summer Safe will focus on poli...cing licensed premises, public spaces and entertainment precincts with the intention to decrease anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related violence, while also ensuring adherence to current Public Health Orders and increased messaging regarding safety when using our inland waterways. 03.01.2022 Officers from Richmond Police District are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman wanted on an arrest warrant. Deborah Robinson, aged 46, is wanted ...for offences relating to perverting the course of justice. She was last seen at 10.45am today (Thursday 26 November 2020) in the vicinity of Liverpool Street, Sydney. Deborah is known to frequent the Bundurra, Inverell, Spring Farm, Penrith and Warilla areas of New South Wales and may be travelling in a blue Toyota Hilux Utility, QLD registration 421 XOZ. She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 160cm to 170cm tall, of a thin build, fair complexion, with blue eyes and brown hair. Anyone who may know her whereabouts is urged not to approach her, but call Triple Zero (000) immediately. 03.01.2022 Man charged with cattle theft New England Police District A man has been charged by Rural Crime Investigators in relation to the theft of cattle from a proper...ty near Glen Innes earlier this year. On Wednesday 2 September 2020 police from the New England Rural Crime Prevention Team were called to a property at Newton Boyd, after four cleanskin calves were discovered to be missing by their owner. Inquiries were commenced which eventually led investigators to speak to a 55 year old man who was known to the owner. On Wednesday 9 September 2020 police recovered four calves which were found to have been earmarked, branded and castrated. They were later reunited with their owner. Following an extensive investigation the man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice on Thursday 5 November 2020 for the offence of ‘Steal Cattle’. He is due to appear at Glen Innes Local Court on 16 December 2020. Rural Crime Prevention Team North West Zone Coordinator, Detective Sergeant Bennett Nolan, emphasised the importance of victims reporting matters at the earliest stage possible, stating This investigation involved Rural Crime Investigators from New England and Coffs/Clarence Police Districts conducting enquiries at numerous properties in the Newton Boyd and Grafton areas, including obtaining samples for DNA analysis from more than 60 cattle from four different properties. It is just one example of the lengths that we will go to ensure that rural crime is thoroughly investigated and the results that can be achieved when stock theft is reported promptly. 01.01.2022 NEW ENGLAND POLICE DISTRICT Commander, Superintendent Steve Laksa wished to dispel any rumours circulating on social media about a lockdown being imposed in Boggabilla this week. Superintendent Steve Laksa said in the early hours of Monday morning (23 November 2020) police responded to multiple calls of shots being fired within the Boggabilla township. Additional police, investigators and specialist resources were deployed to the township where crime scenes were establishe...d at homes in Merriwa, Yeoman and Racecourse Streets. Detectives are leading an investigation into the shootings that saw damage sustained to five homes in what investigators believe was a targeted attack. This is a significant crime and the actions of these offenders are extremely dangerous, Mr Laksa said. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the reckless actions of these offenders. I wish to reassure the community that significant resources are being allocated to this incident and the arrest of these offenders he said. We know Boggabilla is a good community and a community that does not deserve to be tarnished by the actions of these few Mr Laksa said. Any resident that has information about these crimes and is yet to speak to police is urged to contact Moree Detectives immediately. "Whilst our officers are doing everything they can to ensure swift arrests the rule of thumb is always that if you feel unsafe or unsure then do not hesitate to call a police officer residents can call 000 or their local Police, depending on the severity of the situation," Mr Laksa said. 01.01.2022 Man dies after tree branch falls on car Armidale A man has died in hospital after a tree branch fell on his car while driving in the state’s Northern Tablelands yesterday. About 6.10pm (Wednesday 28 October 2020), a 68-year-old man was driving a Ford Ranger utility along Sports Union Road, near the intersection of Trevenna Road, Armidale, when a large branch fell across the roof and bonnet of his car, trapping the man.... He was eventually released and treated at the scene before being taken to Armidale Hospital, where he died today (Thursday 29 October 2020). A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
