25.01.2022 The IMOCA series - ‘International Monohull Open Class Association’ manages the class of 60-foot (18.28 meters) Open monohulls. IMOCA defines the rules guaranteeing sporting equity by developing the innovation and safety of the boats. The aim of the class is to develop the fleet of monohulls and offer its skippers an attractive and coherent sports program. It contributes to the internationalization of offshore racing and combines the notions of competition, innovation, human a...dventure and safety on a day-to-day basis. In 2018, the class launched the IMOCA Globe Series: its 4-year singlehanded and double-handed race championship, the Vendée Globe being the flagship race of this program. Bill Biggart’s equipment and belongings were also on display there and in 2008 at the Newseum in Washington DC.

11.01.2022 Meet Mann Kosal, founder of the Sovanna Phum Center in Cambodia and a master of large shadow puppetry, an ancient art that dates back to before the Angkorian period in the seventh century. During the brutal regime of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s, this form of expression and storytelling all but disappeared; at least 80 percent of artists, including shadow puppeteers, had been killed. It’s Kosal’s quest to revive this nearly lost art and help it take center stage in Cambodia’s culture once more.

These places are becoming rare sights as they are taken away, restored as living homes or laid waste, and apartment blocks built on revised subdivisions.
