Toms Creative Non-Fiction Major Work, called Smoke, Fire, Lies and Truth: The Yellow Jacket Movement and the future of the West was incisive, provocative and engaging. Selection for this publication is a rare honour and is testament to the hard work that goes into a year-long project of this kind. #strongwings

08.01.2022 So what tastes better for lunch, frozen or fresh snags? Just ask Ruben Merani, winner of the Primary Young Scientist Award and equal first place in the Primary Scientific Investigations 56 category of the STANSW Young Scientist Awards! Ruben has been investigating whether using frozen or fresh sausages has an effect on how they taste (and his family have been discovering just how many sausages they can eat!) He's also one of only 24 finalists in the national BHP Foundation S...cience and Engineering Awards! But before we get to cooking we’ll need to clean up and check in with Bryant Diep, who won equal first place in the Mathematical Investigations 34 category after testing more than 30 types of hand sanitiser to determine if they were effective in killing viruses and bacteria. And for the after-lunch cricket game, Robert Walker has all the info on how the summer heat might affect how high the ball bounces he’s found that when cricket balls are dropped, they bounce to 76cm when heated and 56cm when cooled, and he’s won equal first place in the Most Promising K6 category. Well done to all our young scientists from Wyvern who have been exploring the exciting world of STEM over the past few months! http://www.youngscientist.com.au/ See more

I chose to study a VET course whilst at school because it offers the capacity to engage and challenge individual talents and capabilities for further... education and training and lifelong learning. It also involves a lot of hands-on work along the way to give you an idea of the possible occupations that can branch from undergoing the course. #inspiredminds
