25.01.2022 How to make your kids eat kale. . Tear the leaves from a couple of stalks of fresh WA kale. Add a spash of apple cider vinegar, soy sauce and oil. Rub in. Cook in an air fryer on high for 5 minutes. . Even Mr Eat-no-veg, aged 5, wolfed this down as if it was potato chips! Sorry- didnt take the photo until it was too late.... . That's despite identifying 24 foreign pests and diseases in these US states in its draft import risk assessment report. CEO of lobby group Apple and Pear Australia, Phil Turnball, says the biosecurity import conditions will need to be tough. From our point of view these pests are more than just a nuisance," he said. Many of them don’t have any treatments, so you’re forced to rip out the orchard. Some of them are a risk to other industries like citrus, cherries and blueberries. 15.01.2022 WEIRD APPLE WEDNESDAY- ALL HAIL THE WARTY APPLE! . Sneaking a look at this weeks juicers, I thought they looked rather fine, but Dean pointed out that your average apple lover might think that warty apple a little ugly. It has done it tough- those lumps and bumps are the result of hail damage. Honestly, some of those ones will make it to our fruit bowl (I have explained to the kids that they are perfectly fine to eat!) For now, most of them end up as juicing fruit, but initiatives like #hailstormheroes are helping to educate consumers and helping farmers with what can be a devastating financial blow.
