23.01.2022 At 6am on ANZAC Day musicians everywhere are being called on to take to their front yards to play the Last Post. A grassroots campaign for Australians to comme...morate Anzac Day at dawn in their driveways is gathering momentum across the country. With traditional services and marches cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, RSL branches in every state have unanimously endorsed the gesture, with families across the nation expected to stand at their gates, on balconies or verandahs at 6am on Saturday April 25. Please join us and the rest of Australia in this special moment to remember all those who have served and sacrificed for this nation. We may not be able to stand together as we usually would, but we can still stand united in spirit. Anyone interested should download the sheet music, start practising and notify their neighbourhood via a letterbox drop. http://musicformateship.org/ #MusicforMateship #ANZACDAY #drivewaytribute #lastpost #Minutesilence #COVID19 #isolatedbutunited

Excerpt from State Government Summary of Restrictions Move to Stage 3: Outdoor sport: only allowed to exercise, or activities such as fishing, golf, boating, tennis, surfing with one other person or household members, provided 1.5 metre distance can be maintained. Outdoor sporting facilities: closed, except for facilities where public gathering and physical distancing limits can be adhered to and there is no use of shared equipment or communal facilities (e.g. tennis courts, golf courses). Under Stage 3 restrictions all club competitions must cease, however rolls up can continue if the above, and previously advised Stage 3 restrictions (2 per rink, 10 per green, 1.5m distancing, face covering), are strictly adhered to. Clubs must have Council approval to be open (if on Council land) and a Return to Play document that addresses all Stage 3 restrictions. Under the new restrictions, greenkeepers can continue to carry out their work. The guidelines state, ‘essential maintenance for safety and upkeep of public and recreational spaces, such as parks, gardens, golf courses’ is permitted, with a COVID-Safe plan. Bowls Victoria encourages clubs to do enough to keep greens in condition, without keeping them at their usual standard during the season. For clubs with a paid greenkeeper, please carefully consider their contract(s) and/or employment law for guidance. FOR FURTHER INFO: https://bit.ly/BVStage4 https://bit.ly/BVStage3 We know that this news is hard to take, but it is for the best interests of everyone in our community that we all play our part, so that we can soon get back to some sort of normal.
