25.01.2022 THE QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT HAS ANNOUNCED DETAILS OF THE BUSINESS BASICS GRANT. Small business month delivers another opportunity to invest in your business, with the support of the Queensland Governments (DESBT) Business Basics Grant. Here's some info for you:... - $5,000 grant - Applications open 31 May 2021 - It is a competitive process - You have to have: Fewer than 20 employees An active ABN Be registered for GST Have a Qld headquarters Have turnover of less than $300,000 in the current year Not be insolvent or undischarged bankrupt. Spend the money within four months and provide survey responses within six months. When you apply, you need: A certified statutory declaration from the owner or director stating: The business does not have a turnover exceeding $300,000 and meets the eligibility criteria A proposal detailing the activities you purchase Supplier quotes (no more than 2) for the activities What does the grant fund? Well, the good news is that it's nice and juicy from website development to business succession planning... What I'm super excited about is that it includes Training and Coaching; Business development, human resources or business planning topics - "all the things" that I can help you with! So, don't dilly dally! This will be competitive. They are taking applications up to 30th June 2021 OR until they receive 'enough applications', whichever comes first....(I guarantee the "enough applications" will see it close well before 30th June). 23.01.2022 Does the thought of giving feedback to your team members fill you with anxiety and dread? In the last few months I have been supporting leaders and managers in their performance management and annual performance appraisal process, and the question I get asked most is how did you get confident giving feedback to your staff? They would tell me about times when they’ve had to talk to a member of their team about poor performance at work, and always about how much they drea...ded it. They would tell me about how much time they spent worrying about what they were going to say, how they were going to say itand even if they would actually say what needed to be said. And then, on the other side, you have the employee who is dreading it just as much! They’re worried about getting a bad rap, some nasty little surprise, or wondering if they’ve done enough, if their work performance was good enough.
