05.01.2022 We had some special visitors to the school this morning! Last year, children in the1/2 Noble North class contributed artwork to a book regarding children’s wellbeing. This was part of a consultation about what children value, undertaken by the Commissioner for Children and Young People, Ms Leanne McLean. Today, these children had the opportunity to present the book to the Premier of Tasmania, Mr Peter Gutwein. This book entitled, When I Wake Up I Smile, will serve as a report to government to shape policies affecting children from four to eight years of age. We're delighted to have our children’s opinions valued and to be the venue for the event today. It is likely that our school and students will be on tonight’s news and in tomorrow’s newspaper.

04.01.2022 eSafety is aware of distressing reports about a suicide video circulating on social media. We’ve contacted the social media platforms and are working together t...o monitor the situation. Please follow our advice below. * If you see this video online report it to the social media platform it’s on, or to eSafety at www.esafety.gov.au/report/illegal-harmful-content. * We encourage parents, carers and educators to avoid raising the issue of the video directly with young people who may not have heard or been exposed to it. Instead, we encourage proactive conversations with children about distressing content they may come across online, letting them know they can come to you or another trusted adult if they feel upset or uncomfortable by it. * Monitor young people who are more vulnerable and at-risk. If a young person is presenting with signs of distress, schools should follow their own procedures for managing and supporting students at risk. * If a life is in danger call Triple Zero (000) right now. * Anyone who may be at risk or experiencing emotional distress, including worried family and friends, to contact one of the following services: Kids Helpline Official 1800 55 1800. https://kidshelpline.com.au/ Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467. https://www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au/ headspace 1800 650 890. https://headspace.org.au/ Lifeline 13 11 14. https://www.lifeline.org.au/ Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. https://www.beyondblue.org.au/

01.01.2022 We don't need to tell you how crazy this year has been. You’ll notice that celebrations and activities usually occurring at this time of year will be done diff...erently. Including remembering our COVID-safe behaviours and following Public Health advice. Celebrations and activities will look different from school to school based on its size and the facilities they have available. But please remember the most important thing is keeping each other safe. Whatever your school has planned, please support them as they try to hold these special celebrations safely. #LearnersFirst #TasGovEducation
