15.01.2022 I taught a class at the jail today and there was this moment. I was sharing the picture below. I began talking about how our children often present with behavio...rs that look like the shark, but if we look below the water, we will realize they are really just scared goldfish trying to have a need met. Their behaviors might communicate anger and hostility, but below the surface is fear and a hurting child. I further explained that it is our job as parents to stop parenting the shark fin, and look below the surface and meet the needs of the goldfish. One of the inmates raised her hand and said, "I'm alot like that picture. I act all tough and mean, but I'm really just a scared fish. I wish when I was a kid, someone would have thought to look for the goldfish, instead of just seeing me as a shark" May we all spend the day looking for the goldfish, instead of punishing the shark.

10.01.2022 Next Genesis is about helping people to a new beginning, no longer being weighed down by the yoke of addictions and other dysfunctional thinking and behaving... It is time for the community to take over the response to this issue as governments are overwhelmed or don't have the capacity to deal with these issues in a productive manner...Bobby

10.01.2022 Still can't get the whole hang of facebook, BUT wanted you all to know; People with Addictions while responsible are using them for some reason, the trick is to help that person what 'it' is and help them find new ways of 'doing that something' for them (simplistic view but a key none the less) Bobby

03.01.2022 Spoke to a group of people today and they once again spouted out the same old double standards " people who get addicted to alcohol/drugs made the choice to do so,, so why should we feel sorry or spend tax payers money on them"... I hear them, but why should we spend such huge amounts of money in health care for the many who choose to smoke tobacco, eat unhealthily, not exercise, sit on their asses all day and develop so called chronic (LIFESTYLE) diseases ?????????????
