22.01.2022 Here at NextGen Mapping, we believe that there is no 'one size fits all' approach when it comes to accurate and efficient site data acquisition. Different sites require different measures taken to ensure excellent results, and that's the logic behind every site scan we complete. The red spots you see in this photo showcase the GPS camera trigger locations for each aerial shot that formed part of our overall site mapping project for a recent Earth Solutions Group quarry scan. By using a multiple mission approach (along with multiple elevations, gimbal angles and overlaps), we shaved off 1.5 hours of flight time, 8 hours of digital processing time, 2 hours of CAD processing time, and all whilst outputting data products with a far greater overall quality than otherwise. Nothing like some efficiency to save our clients money

21.01.2022 For sites with constant material movements - having accurate, regular and consistent material stock data is crucial in order to stay on top of on-site quantities and inventory value. When it comes to obtaining this level of data, conducting site surveys allows us to quantify all material quantities coming in & out, determine individual pile volumes & tonnage, and determine materials movements within site in order to better understand current inventory levels. After having a couple weeks off (aside from some ongoing end of month scans/reports for our regular clients), we're now up and running again and ready for another big year ahead of us! Just wanting to also quickly send out a big thank you to all of our friends/clients/followers for all of your ongoing support throughout the past year! 2020 was a massive (yet strange) one, but our favourite part was getting to be involved with so many different ...projects, businesses, industries... all of it! Here's a quick works progression update of a recent berry farm drainage rectification project we completed for the team at Sierra Civil - Aerial site scan to capture all required elevation data (verified by ground control points). - 3D modelling to generate usable site surface data.... - Volumetric analysis to determine available onsite material. - 3D design of three elevated pads, each with specific drainage behaviours based off of existing site data in order to minimise flooding potential. - Volumetric analysis of required fill material. - Redesign in order to minimise total import quantities whilst obtaining sufficient site drainage. All that's left is for us to transfer the finalised design surfaces as usable machine control files in order to replicate our CAD design model into the finish surface levels.
