22.01.2022 I had a request from Dylon Burgess wanting some thoughts about the transition from Franchisee to a Franchisor, thanks Dylon. I could write for hours on this topic but hope this provides an insight. Love to hear others thoughts on this topic or ideas on anything else you would like to hear about. Im always open for suggestions (it saves me needing to think!)

21.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Im back! Been a hell of a year for me with more set backs than I care to think about. I think the Queen referred to it correctly as Annus Horibillis. Anyway after speaking to some wonderfully supportive people they have encouraged me to get back doing what I enjoy. I have a motto that is My happiness comes from seeing others achieve but more recently I have followed this to my own detriment putting others ahead of Myself, but a lesson learned is a lesson ear...ned. So Im back and wanting to help where I can. I want to ask you for 2 things. 1. Please give me some topics that you might like me to discuss. 2. Please invite anyone you think will benefit from this page. The more the merrier and the more voices we have here the more knowledge we can share. One last thing. Thank you all that have supported and encouraged me and especially a big thank you to Sharon Connell.

21.01.2022 Last one for the week and to be honest I was excited to use my new intro!!! Are you spending your time in the things that are out of your control and ignoring the things you can?

20.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Im looking for a subject for my next blog. Any suggestions?

15.01.2022 Are you really making the most out of the tools you have in your business? Attending Franchise meetings are one of the most important things you can do in your business.

15.01.2022 Covid -Survive or Thrive? I have spoken to many business owners lately about how Covid is effecting their business. What I found interesting is that they are tending to fall into two separate categories. The Survivors and the Thrivers. You see, some are looking at the current situation as something that is affecting them and there is nothing they can do about it. They are almost going to ground, hoping that they survive and come out the other side with some resemblance of... a business. The other group (the Thrivers) are using this period to work on the many things that they have not had time for historically. These people are spending time each day to ensure that they keep relationships with their clients by checking in with them, to have a friendly chat, or contacting potential clients and starting to form relationships, hoping that they will become clients in the future. I think it is a great opportunity to reset and even take a bit of a break but with that dont run the risk of checking out totally. An hour or two each day on the phone will ensure that your recovery will come back much quicker. For the Franchisors in the group, here is a perfect time to reconnect with your past Franchise enquiries. There is a big chance that their life has changed significantly since you last spoke with them and they are also reconsidering their future. Dont miss that opportunity. I guarantee you that there is some gold in your back list just waiting for an opportunity. Away from the work front these times are a great opportunity to take up something you have always wanted to do. Learn a musical instrument, do some work around the house or like me, teach yourself how to paint. I am also using the opportunity to work on my health and fitness. With crisis also comes opportunity. Make sure you dont miss it.

14.01.2022 Ohhh, here is a new one Ive never seen before!!

13.01.2022 Is what you are doing getting you closer to where you want to be?

13.01.2022 Hi All, thought I would take a short break on my ride to share my thoughts on the classic client response Ill think about it Would love to here your thoughts or similar challenges you are having. Post it below.

12.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Lets talk about what activities you do each day to get results.

12.01.2022 What do you think about when making decisions in your business?

11.01.2022 Such a common thing in Franchising. Both Franchisees and Franchisors blame the leads, the clients, the Franchisees/ors or the economy. The reality is none of these will impact you more than failure to do all the things to better your business.

10.01.2022 Understand you real reason to achieve something is the most important start. Growing your business to earn more money is not your why. Using the earnings to create a better lifestyles is part of it but what does that actually look and what will you do to get it? I promise you, unless you have a clear why you will never take yourself out of your comfort zone enough to achieve it and they will just become another want.

08.01.2022 I watched this video this morning and thought it was worth sharing with you all.

08.01.2022 Its daily activity done well and consistently that will ultimately lead to success. What do I mean? Hope this video helps.

08.01.2022 So the last few months for me has been about reflection of all the things I like or what I have always wanted to do. Most have been sitting there waiting for me to get around to it. You know, the assumption that it would happen at some stage. For a lot of people we have a "bucket list" or the "one day im gunna" list is a better description. The problem is is that it just wont happen until you decide to do it. But not just to start it but seeing it through to the end. We hope...Continue reading

06.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Can I ask you all for a favour (you know I would do it for you !!)? Can you please invite anyone you know who may get some benefit to like this page? I would really appreciate it. Franchisors it would be great if you could encourage your Franchisees to follow and I promise to provide helpful content. 05.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I have been asked by a few Franchisors for some tips on retaining long term franchisees. For those that are Franchisees in this group, I would love your comments on how you feel about some of these. Anyway here some thought 1. Understand and Revisit their motivations and goals. A franchisees personal and business goals will have changed over time. What motivates them now is likely to be different to when they started. Good conversations about what is happening i...n their life and what they now want can be helpful. 2. Use their knowledge and experience. Include your seasoned franchisees on expert panels at conferences; invite them to contribute at meetings; involve them in the pilot testing of new ideas; and use them as mentors and trainers for new or struggling franchisees. 3. Acknowledge and recognise their contributions. People like to be recognised, particularly if they have given years of loyalty. Yet one of the most common sources of frustration I hear from franchisees, especially long term franchisees, is a lack of appreciation from their Franchisor. 4. Provide advanced professional development opportunities. A franchisee may go off the boil simply because they no longer see ongoing opportunities for learning. Participation in advanced professional development courses with outside experts or other seasoned franchisees, can challenge and expand their thinking. You can also get them to bring this new knowledge back to the group 5. Conduct a business review. While you might assume a mature franchisee has clear goals, there is no correlation between experience and a tendency to work ON their business. Taking them through a structured business review can stimulate renewed commitment to reinvest energy and resources into the business. 6. Provide opportunities to expand into additional units. If your franchise system has it, industry research shows that, if effectively managed, a multi-unit franchising program offers existing franchisees a way to improve their overall financial performance. It also provides the opportunity to improve their life balance, and to bring in a fresh partner, such as a high potential staff member, to help manage the expanded operations. This is also a way for Franchisors to grow with people they know a win for both parties. Financial reasoning aside, it often rejuvenates the Franchisee as it is a new challenge. 7. Help them develop an exit or succession plan. Sometimes, despite attempts at reengaging mature franchisees, the best solution is to help the franchisee prepare the business for sale so they can move on. Ironically, as a franchisee works through the process of getting their business into good shape for a sale, and explores other options, they sometimes fall back in love with the business and want to stay!

05.01.2022 My latest "blog". I would love to hear from you on what is your "Why"? http://jimsrealestate.com.au/whats-your-why/

04.01.2022 Hi everyone hope you’re having a great Monday. Question? How much do you know about your client and what they’re really looking for when they’re requesting a service or product from you? Do you know how quickly they need it or what the real reason for wanting it? We tend to concentrate on the price but is that really that important? None of us really buy on price it’s about the value of the product or service. Hope this video helps. Love to hear your feedback in the comments below.

03.01.2022 Great watch for all business owners. Especially point five. Most people do not realize how close to success they are when they give up.......and they will never know. https://youtu.be/n5xfexBWks4

03.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Excited to announce we now have 250 awesome people in the group. This page is only as good as the people in it so feel free to let me know any topic you would like to know about and feel free to comment on any of them. The more discussion we have the more we will all benefit.
