If you haven't heard from us yet - don't worry! We are getting to you. In the meantime, we'd love to hear from any Koori swim teachers (or wannabe swim teachers!) who are interested in getting involved with Ngadyung. You don't have to be an amazing swimmer. You just have to love kids and the water! Anyone interested ...can email Cherry at: [email protected] #Ngadyung #KooriSwim

15.01.2022 **MEET THE TEACHER!!** Hi everyone! My name is Mikaela. I will be taking the Ngadyung program at CISAC during Term 4, 2020. ... Currently I am studying Health science at ANU. After I am looking to do postgraduate medicine. In my degree we look at lot at health inequity within different groups - with quite a large focus on Indigenous health. This is something that I am really passionate about. I want to do my part in helping achieve equity in health and I believe involving myself in this program is a fantastic thing - so I can better understand Indigenous culture, and practices. I love interacting with kids as a swim instructor, it provides me with so much happiness to see them excel in swimming and gain more confidence in the water. I can’t wait to meet you all! I hope we have a great term that is filled with learning and fun. See you all soon!

15.01.2022 What an awesome opportunity!!!

12.01.2022 **MEET THE TEACHER!!** Hi everyone! My name is Andrea. I will be taking the Ngadyung program at Lakeside Leisure Centre during Term 4, 2020. ... For many years educating children has been a passion for me, from tutoring Maori Students in Chemistry at University in NZ, to developing and delivering a science program for preschool aged children for the last 10 years. Over the past four years, my focus has moved toward educating children in water survival and safety skills. Being able to work together with the children in their Swim and Survive lessons and see how they progress, grow and learn to love and be safe in and around the water is incredibly satisfying. I even manage to slyly add in some science during the lessons, just for fun! I grew up in NZ and moved to Australia with my husband, who is Maori, (Ki Tahu) and we had three gorgeous children, so participating in the Ngadyung program allows me to feel that I am able to give a little back to the indigenous community here in Australia in a way that I am not able to in NZ. See you on Sunday!

12.01.2022 Congratulations to all winners from the NAIDOC Awards this year!!!!!!
